Section B (2a-2e) Reading
I.Teaching Objectives
1.掌握关于决心的相关词汇和句型。
2.能运用阅读策略概括文章的段落大意并且补充文章的内容,理解文章的细节。
3.培养学生的上进心和责任感,鼓励学生将自己的决心付诸行动。
II. Teaching Key and Difficult Points
1. I’m going to… 句型。
2. 阅读技巧:skim, skip, scan
3. 培养学生的意志力。
III.Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Lead- in
1. Show a short video about teacher’s New Year’s resolutions.
2. Ss talk about teacher’s resolutions.
3. Ss talk about their own resolutions with “I’m going to …”
(设计意图:通过展示老师的新年决心帮助学生复习“I’m going to…”句型,并且引出了文章的主题resolutions,为阅读文章作铺垫。 )
Step 2 Skimming
1. Ss skim the article and underline the topic sentence of each paragraph.
2. Teacher explains what the topic sentence is.
3. Check the answers by asking several students.
4. Ss match the paragraphs with the main ideas.
5. Teacher check the answers by inviting a student to match them on the blackboard.
(设计意图:指导学生运用略读的策略迅速找出中心句,掌握文章段落大意,有助于学生宏观把握文章的主旨。)
Step 3 Skipping
1. Ss skip the article and put the letters [A-D] in the correct places.
2. Teacher help Ss finish the first paragraph by contacting the context.
3. Ss finish the rest two paragraphs.
4. Ss discuss their answers with partners.
5. Several students share their answers.
(设计意图:在进行跳读的阅读策略时,教师先帮助学生完成第一段的练习,让学生对跳读的策略有了概念再独立进行剩下的练习,之后让学生互相讨论,更加深了对跳读策略的理解。)
Step 4 Scanning
1. Ss scan the article and answer the questions with short sentences.
2. Teacher check the answers.
(设计意图:通过浏览的方式,迅速找出问题关键词,并用简短的语言回答问题,在速度和效率上同步提高学生的阅读能力。)
Step 5 Group work
1. Teacher gives a topic “The best resolution is to have no resolutions.”
2. Ss are divided into two sides to talk about their opinions if they agree or disagree with the sentence.
3. Several representatives of each side debate with each other.
4. Teacher conclude their opinions.
(设计意图:开放性的话题有助于拓展学生的思维能力,帮助学生学会思考,学会表达,并通过讨论的形式自主地得到正确的思想。)
Step 6 Further reading
1. Show another article about resolutions.
2. Ss use the reading strategies to finish the article.
(设计意图:学习的目的在于应用,因此扩展阅读能将学生的理解以实践的形式进行考查。另外,相同主题,不同体裁的文章能扩展学生的阅读面,更进一步提高学生的阅读能力。)
