探究一:情态动词表示推测的用法
1.概念: 表示可能、怀疑、允诺、愿望、义务、必要、猜测等的动词就是情态动词。情态动词can, could , may, might, must, can’t都可以用来表示说话人对某事的推测。
2.结构:情态动词+动词原形。

1. must表示说话人对事物的推测可能性的程度非常大,意为“一定;准是”,表示肯定推测,只能用于肯定句。如果要表示“一定不”,应该用can’t。如果询问可能性时,应该用can。
He must know the answer. 他肯定知道答案。
mustn’t 在英语中不能用于表示推测,但可以表示“禁止,不允许”之意。
2. may, might 表示推测把握性不大的推测,意思是“可能,也许”。might不表示过去时态,语气更委婉,可能性更小。may, might表推测时,可用于否定句,但不用于疑问句。

3. can表示推测“可能性”时,一般用于否定句或疑问句。can’t意为“不可能”, 用于否定句。can 在疑问句中意思是“会,可能” 。
He can’t pick her schoolbag up. 他不可能拿了她的书包。

could 表示某事有可能发生或可能是事实。
Don’t eat it. It could go bad. 不要吃它,可能坏了。

could可用于表示客气、礼貌、委婉的请求语气。

探究一:情态动词表示推测的用法
4. must表示可能性最大的肯定推测,意思是“一定、准是”。只能用于肯定句。 can’t表示可能性最大的否定推测,意思是“不可能;一定不”。
He must know the answer. 他肯定知道答案。
He can’t know the answer. 他肯定不知道答案
注意:
(1)情态动词表示推测时,无时态区别,只有语气差 别。表示
推测情态动词的语气强弱顺序如下(由强 到弱):
must > can > could > may > might
(2)含有must的句子(must表推测)变为否定句时,要用can’t。

1. 情态动词+ do 此结构表示对现在或将来情况的推测和判断

探究三:belong (to)的用法
belong用作动词,通常用作不及物动词。基本含义是“在原来该有的地方”,一般译为“属于”,“与…有关”。不可直接接宾语,常和介词to连用,指(主权方面的)“属于”,也指“是(社团、家族、社会阶层的)一员”。

探究三:belong (to)的用法
1 belong to sb. 可用来指某物属于某人 , to是介词,后跟名词,代词等。
例: This book belongs to me.这本书是我的。
2 belong to sth.
A)指与某物或某处有一定的关联,或者什么东西可以做什么用。例如:
I belong to Shanghai. 我是上海人。This lid belongs to this jar. 这个盖子是配这个瓶子的。
B)指XX是某团体、组织等中的一员。例如:Do you belong to any clubs 你属于哪一个俱乐部吗?(也可译为“你参加了哪一个俱乐部了吗?”)
在用法1中,说“sth. belong to sb.”也可以用“sth. +be +名词性物主代词或者人名’s的形式”。

主要有must, can /could, may /might等。
肯定推测:
must, can / could, may / might都可以表示肯定推测。must 表示把握性极强的推测,意为“肯定、一定”;can / could和 may / might表示把握性不大的推测,意为“也许、可能”。
