On May 17, 2019 China launched a new satellite at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center（西昌卫星发射中心）. It was the forty-fifth Beidou satellite that China had sent into space.
So what is Beidou
Beidou is a Satellite Navigation（satnav）system（卫星定位系统）. It is developed by China. The first satnav system is GPS, which belongs to the United States. GPS is the world's leading satnav system. But China's Beidou has overtaken（超过）GPS in size. China is the third country in the world to have its own satnav system, after the United States and Russia.
