Who is the short basketball player in the pictures
Tyrone Bogues is an American former basketball player. He is the shortest player ever to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Being about 1.6 meters tall, he played point guard for four teams during his 14-season career in the NBA.

He and Paul shared the same interest in basketball, and obviously he supported Paul’s pursuit of his basketball dream.
He understood Paul’s dream and saw his potential.
It was also he who suggested giving Paul the chance to show what he was able to achieve in the first place. He helped Paul to shine when opportunity came.
He was a true friend.

They knew Paul had real skills and worked really hard, so they tried to persuade the coach to let him play for the team.

3. Why did the coach call Paul “big guy” What do you think the coach might have learnt from his experiences with Paul
Because Paul was the one who saved the game and helped the team win. The call of “big guy” forms a sharp contrast to his height (1.6 meters), which shows the coach’s trust, praise, encouragement, approval and appreciation of him.
He may have learnt that he should not have judged a person by his natural condition. He should have been more open-minded, instead of being confined by stereotypes.(模式化概念,刻板印象)
stereotype: fixed idea or image that many people have of a particular type of person or thing, but which is often not true in reality.
Do an interview.
After the competition, some school reporters want to interview Paul.
Requirements:
Each group should:
1. have 3 reporters and decide which member would be “Paul”;
2. come up with at least 3 questions;

An underdog is someone who is thought to be in a weaker position and seems unlikely to be successful. However, with hard work and endless efforts, success can still be achieved and dreams can still be fulfilled by an “underdog”.
This is the message the author tries to convey through Paul’s story.
The opportunity often lies in the adversity.
1.Write a report about your interview.
2. Share a story of the person who has similar experience as Paul.
Note: The person can be your friend, relatives or a famous one you admire.
