1、教材分析:本节课是新目标英语(Go for it)八年级上册第七单元Section B的第三课时。在本单元中是一个写作课时。它是以小阅读的形式谈论如何使用一般将来时及让学生畅想二十年以后或将来的生活。
2、教学目标:
1. 知识目标:要求学生掌握以下词汇:keep a pet, look smart, when possible, take a holiday。
2. 能力目标:培养学生阅读英语小短文的兴趣,提高他们的阅读水平和写作技巧。
3. 情感目标:让学生爱上英语课堂活动,树立畅想未来生活的远大目标。
4.学习策略目标:设法使学生掌握英语的阅读方法进行交流,提高阅读能力和写作能力。
三、教学重难点: 掌握目标词汇,增强英语的阅读技巧和写作水平。
四、教学过程:
Step 1 Leading in(任务前导入和复习活动)
1.Greet the class
2.Listen to an English song: “Whatever will be”. Enjoy some pictures about the future.
Ask: What do you want to be when you grow up
Step 2 Revision
(1) Free talk:what will the future be like in twenty years
(2) What will your life be like in twenty years What will you be in twenty years
I will be an/a… Where will you live I will live in ….
What will you do in your free time I’ll… Get students talk about future.
step 3 While-task(任务中活动) Reading comprehension
Finish 3a .
1. know the meanings of the words in the box
2. Ask students to read the passage for the first time and fill in the chart below. Then check the answers.
3. Screen the questions and get the students to read the passage again,
4.Ask the students to try to translate the passage.
5.Read it together.
Step 4 Writing

“Just now, we have learnt what Jill’s life will be like in 20 years. What will your life be like in 20 years Now write about yourself.”
Finish 3b 3c Let the students write their own passages.
1.Give students a sample, let students fill the chart use their information
2.Get two students to write their passages on the blackboard. Move around to check the progress. Check the passage on the blackboard.
3.Put all the students papers together
4.Take turns reading the paper .The other students guess who wrote it .
