Teaching Aims
Knowledge Aim:
A. Vocabulary:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
B. Sentence structure:
1. —What day is it today
—It's Sunday.
2. —What do you do on Sunday
—I play soccer on Sunday.
Ability Aim:
To enable students to talk about the 7 days of the week
To enable students to talk about what they do on specific days
Emotinal Aim:
Get them to realize that each day is a happy day and just have fun
Teaching key points

—It's Sunday.
Teaching difficult points
—What do you do on Sunday
—I play soccer on Sunday.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Revision
Revise several sports events by the following conversation:
(pictures about swimming, playing tennis/soccer/basketball/ping-pong)
T: Do you like playing basketball
S: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
Step 2 Presentation: vocabulary in sentence patterns
Set a situation of the animals’ sport meeting and introduce 7 new friends and an old friend--Gogo. Gogo the news reporter interviewing 7 athletes about the day and their activities on specific days.
Gogo: What day is it today
Winne: It’s Sunday.
Gogo: What do you do on Sunday
Winne: I play soccer on Sunday.
Learn other new words in the similar way: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Key sentence of “What day is it today It’s...” and “What do you do on... I .... on....” is presented along with words at the same time.
