Teaching content(教学内容) Go for it! Book 5. Unit6 When was it invented The whole unit needs 5 periods, this is the fifth period of Unit 5.
Teaching period(课时) The last period (Section B 3a-Self Check )
Learning analysis(学情分析) The students have learned the passive voice of the past tense in this unit, but they don't know how to use them correctly. The students in this class have weak basic knowledge. They need a new way to practice , so I divide them into groups and use team work to finish tasks. In order to stimulate students and make them be interested in this lesson, I lead them to the knowledge in the form of a competition.
Teaching aims(教学目标) LanguageKnowledge(知识目标) ① Be able to memorize the words and phrases, “by accident, divided…into…, take place, look up to, without doubt, by mistake, not only…but also…, be used to do/ for…"② Be able to use the passive voice of the past tense to make a conversation.③ Be able to write a passage about students’ own inventions by using the passive voice of the past tense.
Emotion target(情感目标) Small inventions can change the world, use our mind to invent some useful inventions which can make our life better.
Teachingemphases(教学重点) ① Be able to memorize the words and phrases.② Be able to use the passive voice of the past tense to make conversations.
Teaching Difficulties(教学难点) Be able to write a passage about students’ own inventions by using the passive voice of the past tense.

Warm up(热身) Greetings. “Good afternoon,Ms. Yang!” ② Each group show their group’s name to class.确立“言语本位”的课程观。在英语课中,必须确立言语本位的课程观:英语教学是以言语内容为中介使学生获得言语规律和技巧的教学活动;英语课的本质是通过开展言语活动,来培养学生的英语运用能力。 Greetings. “ Good afternoon, boys and girls.” ②Encourage each group and tell the rules about group work.
Presentation(新课呈现)Presentation(新课呈现) ①Check their homework on learning guide. ① Show the words on PPT.
Task1 (任务一:词组 记一记)Look at the Chinese meanings of the phrases, stand up and speak out. The first one can get the sores. ②Check the answers and record the scores.
Task2 (任务二:被动语态 学一学) Watch the video , then find out: S: A foreigner invented this magical this S: This magical thing was invented by a foreigner.一般过去时的被动语态: 主语+ was/were done by…课堂教学设计要具有趣味性和多样性。 课堂教学设计应充分考虑现代教学手段。创设丰富多彩的教学情景,这有利于引起学生学习的动机,激发他们的学习兴趣,从而调动全体学生英语学习的积极性。 ③Lead them to summarize the structure of the passive voice.
④Task3 (任务三:习题 做一做)Use the rules that they have summarized to practice. ④ Check the answers , give a surprise and record the scores.
⑤ Task4 (任务四:对话 说一说)A: What’s your favorite invention B: The car.A: Why B: Because it is used to take us anywhere. It can make our life faster and more convenient. What about you B: ……确立“基于实践”的教学观 。言语实践,是学生的实践,要求学生“事必躬亲”,教师是“讲”不出学生的能力来的。语言的实践活动对于语言教学的重要性。 ⑤ Lead them to talk about their favorite inventions, ask three pairs to show their conversations and record the scores.
⑥ Task5 (任务五:短文 写一写) 请小组成员合作设计一项新发明,然后介绍用英语介绍新发明,内容包括以下几方面:1. Who is it invented by 2. What does it look like 3. What is it used for/to…让学生小组自主讨论后生成短文,树立“学生主体”的教学理念。培养孩子的自学能力,教学过程也就是塑造和建构学习主体的过程。 ⑥Lead them to describe their inventions and ask them to show their reports. Record the scores.
Summary (总结) Remember the heroes and cherish the moment.② Small inventions can change the world, use our mind to invent some useful inventions which can make our life better. ③ If time is left, students can do the exercise in Self-Check.
