一、序数词的构成:
表示事物顺序的词叫序数词,序数词的构成一般是在基数词的后面加词缀 th, 但是也有在变化的时候出现了一些特殊情况,下面具体介绍一下;

一、序数词的构成:基数词变序数词规律
数字 序数词变化规则 例词
1、2、3 特殊记 one →first 第一 two → second 第二;Three →third 第三
4~19 基数词词尾加-th 特殊:five → fifth 第五; eight → eighth 第八; nine → ninth 第九twelve → twelfth 第十二
一般:four → fourth 第四
nineteen → nineteenth 第十九
20, 30,40, … 整十数的变化: -ty变为-tie再加th twenty → twentieth 第二十 thirty → thirtieth
第三十forty →fortieth 第四十 …
其余两位数 将基数词的个 位改为序数词词 twenty-one → twenty-first 第二十一;thirty-nine → thirty-ninth第三十九

二、序数词的用法:
1. 序数词要加定冠词the。但当序数词前有物主代词(his, her…)、指示代词(this, that…)等修饰时,则不必再用the。如:
on the third floor 在三楼 on his twelfth birthday 在他十二岁生日这天
2. 序数词常用缩写形式,即“阿拉伯数字 + 个位序数词的后两个字母”。如:one → 1st; second→ 2nd; third → 3rd; twelfth → 12th; twenty-sixth → 26th
3. 序数词可表示日期“几月几日”中的“几日”。如: August 17th

二、序数词的用法:
4. 序数词可以用来表示顺序、编号等,放在名词的前面
eg:the fifth lesson第五课
基数词也可以表示编号:Lesson Five; Class Eight; Class Seven
5. 表示分数时,分子用基数词,写在前面;分母用序数词,写在后面。当分子大于1的时候,表示分母的序数词要+s。
one fifth 五分之一
two thirds 三分之二
6. 序数词前有时也可加不定冠词a / an,这时表示的不再是具体范围内的“第几”,而是表示在原有基础上的“又一个,另一个”。

名词所有格就是指在某一名词后加’s, 表示“……的”这一结构形式,表示某人的,强调所属关系。
例如:李萍的书 翻译为:Li Ping’s books 具体用法为:

1)单数名词后直接加’s
如:Jim’s coat 吉姆的外套 Jeff’s mother 杰夫的妈妈
2)以s结尾的复数名词,只加“’”
如:Teachers’ Day 教师节 the twins’ books 双胞胎的书
3)不以s结尾的不规则的名词复数,加“’s”
如:Children’s Day 儿童节 men’s shoes 男式鞋
4)表示两者共同拥有时,只在最后一个名词后加’s
表示两者各自拥有时,要在每个名词后加’s
比较:Lucy and Lily's mother 露茜和莉莉的妈妈
Lucy‘s and Kate’s rooms 露茜和凯特的房间
注:表示时间、距离、国家、城市等无生命的名词也可以使用名词+'s所有格。如:a few years’ time 几年的时间 New Year’s Day 元旦节

1) of 所有格多用于表示无生命事物的名词的所有关系。
