Unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister.

［Teaching Procedures］
Step 1 Warming up
Divide the whole class into four groups and have a competition.If students
answer questions and behave well,I will give a star to them.
Show a short video and lead in some words:short,tall,outgoing,
quiet,loudly,quietly...
(设计意图：运用视听法，引起学生的兴趣，形象生动地引导出描述人
的单词；利用小组竞争的方式，调动学生的积极性。）
Step 2 Lead in
Revise the adjectives describing people’s appearance and personalities:
I will show a picture.One is Yao Ming, the other is Zeng Zhiwei. Ask
students to recall and talk about the words we have learned and describe
their appearance and personality as many as possible.
(设计意图：利用视听法帮助学生提取已有的描述人外貌、性格的知识；
利用交际法培养学生交际能力，以及口语表达能力。）
Step3 Presentation
1.Use the adjectives to compare them and lead in the comparative degree
and the sentences:
tall-taller, short- shorter,outgoing- more outgoing,loudly - more loudly,
quietly - more quietly...
Yao Ming is taller and stronger than Zeng Zhiwei:
Zeng Zhiwei is funnier than Yao Ming;
Yao Ming is as smart and hard-working as Zeng Zhiwei.
3.Ask students to do pair work.Use the sentences we learned just now to
compare themselves.
(设计意图：利用视听法呈现出比较对象明显的特征，提供范例，利用
交际法培养学生语言交际能力，培养学生合作能力，并且
对刚输入的比较级句型进行输出。）
Step 4 Consolidation
1.show two pictures of twins and lead in the three pairs of twins of the
listening material.
2.Listen to the tape and finish 1b. Check the answers.
3.Listen again,and fill in the blanks.Ask students to write their answers on
the blackboard.

(设计意图：利用听说法锻炼学生的听力能力，对比较级句型进行巩固
练习。）
Step 5 Practice
1.Guessing Game
Choose one student to describe anyone in our class,then,ask students to
guess who he/she is.
2.Debate
Let students debate who is better using the comparative sentences.
(设计意图：利用游戏法，提高学生学习兴趣，对所学单词、比较级句
型进行练习巩固。通过辩论让学生了解到每个人是不同的，
每个人都有优点。）
Step6 Micro-lesson
Show a micro-lesson about comparative degree,then present four questions
to consolidate it again.
(设计意图：利用讲授法系统的讲授比较级的变化规则，使学生能形成
知识系统网络。但是学生没有发挥主观能动性，自己总结
比较级，所以微课后加一定的练习加深学生印象。）
Step 7Summary
1.Give Students a chance to summarize what we have learned in this
class.(Students can talk about it freely.)
2.Give the Students some complements and further explanations.
3.Sum up the rules in Chinese.
