一、教材分析
本课是《新目标英语》八年级上册第四单元，本单元围绕公共场合开展多种教学活动。通过这节课，训练学生的读、写基本技能，让学生通过谈论他们喜欢的公共场合，从而使用最高级句型进行写作。
二、学生分析
本节课为写作课，学生通过前三课时的学习有一定基础，话题也较贴近学生生活，学生会比较有兴趣，但八年级学两级分化较为严重，因此要多设计能让学生参与的活动，让学生有浓厚的学习兴趣。
三、教学目标
1. 语言知识目标：1) 复习形容词及副词的比较的构成规则。掌握生词crowded。2) 能够综合运用所掌握的知识来描述周围的地点及事物的特点。3) 通过描述周围的地点及事物来综合运用所学的形容词及副词的比较的用法。 2. 情感态度价值观目标：1) 每个人都有自身的特长、优点和特点，古人云：三人行必有我师焉。每个人都可以从他人那儿学习到你所需要的可贵的品质和精神。
四、教学重点
1) 能运用所学的形容词或副词的最高级的用法，根据提示来完成选词填空的任务。2）能运用所学的形容词或副词的最高级的用法来描写自己周围的一些地点和事物等。

Step1.Ⅰ. Warming- up and revision 1. Have a dictation of the new words and expressions. 2. Who’s got the talent in your class Let some Ss give their report. e.g.1) Li Fei is the best chess player. 2) Xu Li is the most talented dancer. 3) Wu Fan is the most interesting writer. 4) Sun Nan is the faster runner. 5) … is the best basketball player. 6) … is the best English speaker. 7) … is the funniest actor. 3. Review the phrases. And make a sentence with the phrases.
Step2 lead in 1. Let Ss talk about “What’s your favorite place to go on weekends Why is it ”e.g. 1) The Children’s Center is the best place to go on weekends. Because I can play tennis and play ping-pong. I can speak English with friends. 2) The best place to go is Center Park. Because I can swim and climb the hill. I can fly kites and take a walk in the woods.
Step3 Reading 1. Read the article about Greenwood Park. Fill in the blanks with the correct superlative forms of the adjectives and adverbs in the box. 2. 写作指导：首先，阅读短文，整体把握短文大意。 其次，分析有空格的每个句子，看空格处应是形容词还是副词，根据句意确定单词。 最后，将单词的最高级形式填到空白处。副词前可以不加the。 3. Ss try to read the article and try to fill in the blanks. 4. Check the answers with the Ss.
