Step 1. Greetings and Lead-in1. Greetings.2. Do a brainstorming to review the target sentence“How do you study English I study by doing …….3. Lead-in. we have learned many ways to learn English ,but not everyone can learn it well, many of us meet difficulties in learning. Paul is one of the students who need help in learning English. Let’s help him. Step2 PresentationI. 1a/1b1. Read the instructions to the class.Pay attention to the new words. Read The statements one by one to make sure students get the meanings. 2. Ask students to check the statements that are true of them ,then try to make a list of other difficulties they met.3. Find several students to present their work.Step3 PracticeII. 1cHave them read the instruction and sentences first .then play the tape. For the first time ,students only listen to get the main idea. The second time ,listen and write the answers.2. Check the results with the students.III. 1d1.Play the tape again. Students finish the sentences in 1d.2. Check the answers with the students.3. Read the listening material after the tape.Step4 Consolidation and extension I.1e & Pair work1. Read the instructions and the conversation in 1e to the class, then ask students to role-play the conversations using the information in 1c and 1d.2.Give them several minutes, then ask some pairs to present their conversations. II. Writing practice1.Let students write a short passage like the sample one:I have a problem/ problems in learningEnglish. Give help if needed.Have students read their work aloud to the class.Step5 Summary We have talked about the difficulties we met in learning English, and we also discussed how to solve them. I hope all of us can learn English better through these solutions.
