Step1 greeting
Step2 lead in
Ask a question “what’s the date today ”
S: it’s June 1st.
T: i want to buy a dress for my little daughter. Where can i buy a dress (show the pictures about 1a)
Step3 presentation
Show the pictures about 1a and ask the questions “what
places are they and where i can buy sth ” At the same time,
point out the three meanings of“get”.
T: Where can i buy some stamps
S: You can buy some stamps at the post office
...
Step4 listening
Listen to 1b and fill the blanks and check the answers by reading the conversations and then listen to a second time and ask students to draw the routes in the map.
After the first time, ask students to compare the sentence“ Where can i buy sth With the one “ Could you please tell me where i can buy sth” . Which one is more politely We choose the second one.
After the second time, ask students find out the location where they are talking.
According to the listening material, ask students to summarize and review the phrases about the direction.
Step5 Practice
Set up two tasks about give and follow the direction.
A: Excuse me, could you please tell me where i can buy/get sth
B: Sure, there is a ___ on ___ street.
A: Do you know how to get there

Step7 practice
Show a map about the places around the school. Then divide the students into two groups and design the questions for opposite side. Give some minutes to prepare and then show their answers.

When we need help, we should ask questions politely, speak politely and behave politely. Try to be a polite person to make the world more beautiful.
