一、教学目标：
1. 语言知识目标：

2）能掌握以下句型进行交际：

2) 能够用英语描述及询问物品的制作材料和产地。并结合实际生活情景理解和运用。

了解一些日常用品的制成材料，增加生活常识，养成良好的生活习惯；了解一些地方知名产品以及制作材料，培养学生的民族自豪感及爱国主义精神。
二、教学重难点
1) 掌握本课时中出现的生词
2) 能够用英语描述及询问物品的制作材料和产地
3) 理解被动语态的一般现在时和一般过去时，并灵活运用
4）结合实际对两个句型结构的运用
三、教学方法
1）结合实际情况进行交际
2）让学生通过听、说理解交际活动并不断沟通练习、进行互动
四、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warming up and Leading in
T:look at my finger. Tell me “what is it ”
S: A ring.
T: yes. It is a ring that is made of silver.
And the skirt is made of cotton .
Today we will learn “unit5 what are the shirts made of ” and tell Ss to read the title together.
Show the objectives of this class :Talk about what products are made of and where they were made.”
II . Learning
1. Show some pictures on the big screen.
Let students say and remember the words: chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel, grass…..
Add more materials. Teach Ss to read and remember them.
Divide the words into two groups. One is product, the other is materials.
Let students remember them again and use them to make some conversations.
2. Show some pictures and let students use them to make some conversations
Eg: What is this
It is a/an…
What is it made of
It is made of…
3. Give Ss four groups and practice conversations.
4.Ask Ss to show their conversations.
III. Work on 1a:
Let Ss read the things and materials in 1a. Discuss with their partners and match them with the materials. More than one answer is possible.
What are these things usually made of Match them with the materials. More than one answer is possible.
1. chopsticks
2. window
3. coin
4. stamp
5. fork
6. blouse
a. wood
b. gold
c. silver
d. paper
e. silk
f. glass
7. Check the answers by making sentences.( Chopsticks are made of wood/silver. )
8. Practice “be made of ”
IV. Listening
1. T: Tell Ss they will hear a conversation about some things and material. Listen and match the products with what they are made of and where they were made.

2.The frist time, Ss only listen
3. The second time, Ss listen and match the things with the material and where they were made.
4. Check the answers by making sentences.

Ⅴ. Pair work
1. Throught the listening conversations.
Tell students “we heard some sentences.”
Eg: Shirts are made of cotton. They were made in America.
2. Ss try to made conversations by using the information in 1b like 1c.
Eg: This ring looks nice. Is it made of silver
Yes, and it was made in Thailand.
Work in pairs. and ask some pairs to show the conversations
3. Show more pictures to Ss, Ask Ss to work in pairs.

They are made of cotton.
Where were they made
They were made in America.
3. let Ss try to make their conversations.
4. Role-play the conversations.
VI. Exercise
Show some exercises to students.
