Unit 1 Seasons and Weather --- What’s the weather like
Language Learning Target:

What’ s the weather like in ______________
Seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter. Cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lasa, Saya, Kaiping, Guilin, Harbin, New York, Hong Kong, London.

Weather: rainy, cloudy, warm, sunny, hot, windy, cool, snowy and cold.
Language Teaching keys:
Four seasons and weather signs.
Language Teaching difficulties:
① Make the students know what’s the weather differences among the different four seasons.
② make the students know what’s the weather differences among the big cities around the world.
③ Make the students know how to talk about the weather according to the difference among the seasons and cities.
Language Teaching Materials:
Computer teaching system sets(computer with Internet access, travel brochures and classical music), pictures of the four seasons, color makers and match stamps.
I Teaching Procedure Review
1. Greeting and bring all the students into a weather office. (TVB News music)
2. Weather sign: rainy, cloudy, warm, sunny, hot, windy, cool, snowy and cold.
3. Seasons picture: spring, summer, fall and winter. (stick on the blackboard)
II Practice
1. Interview:
What’s the weather like in ___________
It’s _______, _______ and ________ in spring.

Group leader( student )interviews the members in Group Spring/ Summer/ Fall/ Winter about the weather in the four seasons, teacher writes down the weather near the pictures on the blackboard.
2. Read out the sentences about the weather in these four seasons. ( make sentences, ask and answer in pair.)
3. Make a song:
① Play the music.
② Find out the rhythm.
③ Match the music.
④ Lead a chorus.
4. Practicing the song.
Let the students talk about how to sing the season song in four groups. ( add some gestures)
5. Singing match
Show out the four season songs with the music in groups .
6. Traveling
① Watch the weather report about different cities in the world.
② Talk about the weather in groups.(ask and answer: What’s the weather like in different cities )
③ Weather report ( single student)
