Objectives: Recognize and read out the 12 months. Be able to talk about some holidays with the pattern: When’s … It’s in… Be able to write and talk about the birthdays of some family members and friends.
Main point: Be able to say out the names of 12 months in a year. Note that each word begins with capital letter.
Difficult point: Be able to talk about the holidays using the topic vocabulary.
Teaching Procedures:
1. Greeting
1. Present the words in random order, trying to read them out according to its form.
2. Reorder the words, telling why at the same time, using after or before. e.g. January is before February… / February is after January…
3. Listen to the song of months. Talk about the background of each month, e.g. Christmas is in December. It’s winter. It’s cold in winter. What else can you see in each month
4. Present the word cards of festivals: It’s Children’s Day. Is it in October/ September…

6. Write about the birthdays of 5 persons using the months:
反思优化:学生对节假日的词汇比较陌生,所以该环节的时间占用较多,导致本节课的任务不够时间完成。下节课的教学环节调整如下:
1. 分别用before和after 说出12个月份的顺序,把词汇卡呈现在黑板上。
2. 引导学生关注第一个字母凸显红色,归纳月份的第一个字母要大写。
3. 归纳单元主题:months (板书主题)
