Unit 3 Dates 教学设计

学情分析:
广东人民出版社《英语》三年级起点到五年级,学生的语言知识、思维品质、英语表达能力等素养都得到了一定的锻炼和发展,主要表现在听、说、读、写4项技能与合作学习方面的长足进步。本课主题《Dates》的第二课时,学生已经掌握了月份、日期和形容词性物主代词的单词。对句型:What’s the date today 和所属格也有些了解。学生能在老师设置的情境和任务中进行交互性对话和合作学习新知识,在学习新知的同时,能进行情感理解、领悟与表达。通过对主题《Dates》的学习,能理解时光的宝贵,从而更懂得珍惜时光,珍惜与家人的相处,幸福力得到提高。
教材分析:
本课是广东人民出版社《英语》五年级上册第三单元的内容。在本课时里,学生们将要掌握如何准确地表达日期,并与自己的实际生活结合起来进行交流。本课时的材料内容简单,老师在设计课程时紧扣中心句型,进行情感渗透,提升学生的认知力、理解力和同理心。
本课时具体的教学内容:
1. Listening: 听懂表述日期的单词和句型:What’s the date today It’s... 和When’s your birthday It is…;并做出正确反馈。
2. Speaking:能运用主题单词和句型:What’s the date today It’s... 和When’s your birthday It is…;进行交流,表达和获取主要信息。能在小组内与同学分享自己和家人的生日情况。
3. Reading: 能从图文信息中读懂目标句型和单词所描述的意思,并做出合适的反馈,进行情感交流。
4. Writing: 能就家人和同学的特殊日期进行小组讨论,与他人交流家人和同学的生日,形成书面文字并汇报展示。
其中教学重点为:新授Target目标句型、 story和activity部分. 难点为:准确表达日期和能用句型When’s your birthday It is…流利表达;学会讲述自己和家人的生日,并与同学分享。所属格my、your、his、 her,在本课的运用中也是难点和重点。
总体思路:
本课选材与《Dates》有关的语言知识为主要学习内容,以《义务教育英语课程标准(2011年版)》为指导思想,在课堂设计中主要紧扣以下几方面:
1.能在图文、情境的提示下,接受和掌握语言输入,了解语言的运用也拓展。从而在听、说、读、写4技能方面有所提高。
2.通过Board games 等小组合作学习方式,让学生的语言交际能力得到有效训练;
3. Board games游戏活动的趣味性,能有效激发学生的英语学习内驱力,培养学生积极探究、主动求知、乐于表达的好习惯。
4.结合主题《Dates》,让学生记住同学和家人的特殊日子,并在学习过程中乐于分享爱、表达爱,从而激发学生爱家人、爱同学、爱朋友、爱生活的热情原动力,提升学生学会感恩的情感品质。
5.在教学过程中,我们运用了图文、情境、音效和视频等多种辅助手段进行步步推进,层层建构知识框架,以此激发和培养学生探究的学习热情。学生能习得并形成语言能力,增强学习语言的自信心,从而促进语言综合运用能力的长足发展。
具体教学设计:
课型:操练课
Topic:本课时贯穿基本句型What’s the date today It’s... 和When’s your birthday It is…;的掌握与运用,以老师生日、个人生日、家人生日等特殊日子为明线,以情感渗透为暗线,演绎主题《Dates》。通过听说、问答、游戏,小组合作汇报和语用表达等多种形式对句型进行反复操练和运用。
教学目标:
1.语言技能目标
(1)能听懂月份与日期单词的表达法,熟知其发音规则;
(2)能用句型What’s the date today It’s... 和When’s your birthday It is…;进行简单交流。
(3)能听懂、读懂课文生成语篇。
(4)能根据课文生成语篇写出自己想要表达的情感。
2.情感态度目标
(1)就《Dates》这个话题,能流利与人进行交流,分享和聆听彼此对特殊日子的情感。
(2)通过小组交互性对话、游戏等多种形式,在活动中提高自主探究学习的能力,培养与他人的合作精神。
3.学习策略目标
(1)通过自主学习、合作学习、小组讨论等方式,让学生感受自主学习的乐趣,体验合作的快乐,从而养成良好的学习习惯和形成更为有效的学习策略;
(2)通过交互性对话、Board games等活动环节,鼓励学生积极与他人合作交流,共同完成学习任务。并在课堂交流中,培养自己倾听意识和探究精神,积极思考,运用所学单词和句型与同伴交换彼此的信息和分享彼此的情感。
4.文化意识目标
(1)随着话题的拓展,能获取更多特殊日子的意义和情感,体会人际交往的真诚,融洽彼此的情感,创造和谐人际关系。
(2)了解更多与日期相关的特殊意义和故事,体会温暖的人生色彩。
教学重点和难点
教学重点:
句型学习与运用:What’s the date today It’s... 和When’s your birthday It is…
教学难点:
能用When’s your birthday It is…与他人谈论家人、朋友和同学的生日。能灵活运用所属格的表达法。
教学过程:
Step 1 Greetings
1. Free talk
T: Hello, boys and girls.
Ss: Hello, Jojo.
Then T has a free talk to Ss about weather and dates.
T: We have learnt dates and months last lesson. Today we continue to talk about dates. First, let’s revise by listening a song on The months.
2. A song.
Sing a song "The Months" with actions.

The kids will stand up while singing the month of his/her birthday.
【设计意图】歌曲热身,复习旧知,自然反应,紧贴主题,活跃气氛。
Step 2 Situation 1
T: Hello, everybody!
What ‘s the song about
S: It’s about “months” .
T: Here is a month card. Guess: Which month is it
Ss: Is it … Maybe 3-5 kids to ask this question.
S: Is it May
T: Yes, “May” is special for me.
S: Is your birthday in May
T: Yes, it is.
S: What’s the date of your birthday
T: It’s May 20th, it was “yesterday”.
S: Happy birthday, teacher!
Maybe more kids will congratulate to the teacher. Maybe the kids will sing a song to the teacher.
S:Let’s sing a song for our teacher. “Happy birthday to you.”
T: Thank you, everybody! You are so kind! Here is a big cake for you! We will share it after class.
【设计意图】上课的前一天刚好是老师的生日,采用这个信息设置情境,促进师生情感,激发学生主动参与课堂学习活动的热情。同时为引出本课的主要句型:When’s your birthday 作铺垫。
Step 3 Presentation
T leads the kids to look at PPT.
T: Look!Who is she Claire!
T: My birthday is May 20th. When is your birthday, Claire
S: My birthday is……
T: How old are you
S: I’m…years old.

Then T turns to the second kid and ask:
T: When is Claire’s birthday
S:Her birthday is Sep.23rd.
T: How old is she
S:She is 12 years old.
Read together after T.
The same method to finish Picture 3. Then one kid ask next classmate one by one to practice the core-dialogue.
【设计意图】老师从自己的生日转向询问同学生日信息,进一步强化主要句型的呈现。接着,由第一人称转化成第三人称在句型中的运用,让语境进一步生活化,突出语用的灵活性。

T asks one kid to make a mini-dialogue with the girl on picture 4.
S1: When is your birthday
S2:My birthday is Sep.8th.
T: How old are you
S:I am 11 years old.
T leads all kids to say the information about the girl on P4 together.
Then 4-6 kids to say something below:
This is Vivian.
Her birthday is Feb. 8th.
She is 11 years old.
Finally all kids read it together.

One kid to ask some questions to the boy on P5. Then all kids to read it together. Next,T asks all kids to practice in groups. At last, One group to show.
【设计意图】学生能抓住关键信息进行陈述,表达能力得到锻炼。以4位学生的信息为桥,老师逐步由对话操练到整体练读到个人叙述,层层搭建语言结构,让学生逐步获得自信,并做到流利表达。

【设计意图】承上启下,为下一个游戏操练环节做准备。老师的鼓励是学习的动力,进一步润色情感。
Step 4 Practice

First, all kids watch how to play the Board Games.
The kids can get the core-dialogue by playing Board Games. They can help each other during the games.

S: When is your mother’s/ father’s birthday
S: Her/ His birthday is ….
【设计意图】玩中学,在Board Games游戏中进一步熟悉并运用中心句型并开始加入家人的生日信息,有新的拓展。游戏让人轻松愉快,能激发学生学习兴趣,调动其积极性,达到乐学爱学,从而能主动学习。
Step 5 Ask and answer

Games over. The kids ask and answer in groups. While they finish the blanks, one kid to stand up and share the information of family.
【设计意图】调查活动激励学生主动获取信息,学生在活动中增进彼此的了解,从活动中学会交流和交换信息。
Step 6 Situation 2
Yoyo shares the information of her family.
Then T asks her some questions below:

T: Yoyo’s birthday is Jan.16th. Her brother’ birthday is Oct. 26th.
The kids to answer the dates on the blanks.
T: 1. When is her father’s birthday
2. When is her mother’s birthday
The kids are all required to listen and get the information of Yoyo’s family.
Step 7 Listening
Listening materials:
Hello! My name’s Yoyo. There are 4 people in my family,my father, my mother, my little brother and me. Look! The cute boy with red balloon is my little brother. He is 4 years old. His birthday is Oct.26.My mom is a beautiful lady. She plays the piano very well. Her birthday is Jul.18th.I have a great father. He is tall and humorous. His birthday is Aug.13th. I have a happy family. I love them. These four days are special for me. How about your special days

T creates the contents about the special dates of one family. The kids can get the main information by listening. Listen and match,then the kids should answer T ‘ questions below:
1. When is Yoyo’ birthday
2. When is her brother’s birthday
3. When is her father’s birthday
4. When is her mother’s birthday
After finish the listening material and report. T leads the kids to say something of their parents.
T: When is your father’s / mother’s birthday
S1: My father’s / mother’s birthday is ……
Then the first kid to ask the next kid to answer the questions. Maybe 6-8 kids to contact one by one.
【设计意图】围绕主题《dates》,建构贴近学生生活的话题,创设情境引导学生表达,吸引学生参与课堂的向心力。从了解同伴生日到家人生日,情感更贴近内心,有助于激发学生关心同学和家人的情感升华。
Step 8 Situation 3
T: Boys and girls, you are so kind, you can remember your parents’ birthdays. Do you know how about our father and mother support us Please watch the video.

T:Father’s love is as heavy as a mountain. Mother’s love is as deep as the sea.
The kids read the sentences after T.
【设计意图】视听输入,情感体验。从一个学生家庭特殊日子的带入,让学生深切体会自己的父母的不容易,进一步提炼孩子们的情感。
Step 9 Writing and Extension
T: When is your special day
The kids should share their special days to class.
T:Now please write down your special days of your family.
Then the kids should finish the sheet below. Next, they should share it to the others. Then T shows the kids’ work on the slide by APP Xi Wo . So the others can see and learn it.

【设计意图】听、说、读和写技能的步步推进,由词到句,再到对话,知识层层递进,学习形式和知识内容都在不断丰富拓展。又因为内容涉及到学生自己的亲人,感同身受,在学生心里进一步刺激情感,心生感恩。
