I.Textbook analysis
This lesson is a section of listening and speaking, which expands the subject of the unit through listening and speaking activities to consolidate the use of the target language. Activity 1a requires a corresponding date for the week, and Activity 1b reviews and expands the vocabulary that expresses time. Activity 1c uses the information of 1a and 1b to drill the sentence pattern questioned on the date What’s today It’s... Activity 1d-1e is a hearing test performed by combining relevant information such as date. Activity 1f is a continuation of listening, allowing students to output the information in a role-playing manner.
II.Academic analysis
For the eighth grade students, there is already a certain English language foundation. In the classroom, compared with the seventh grade, it is not so much love to express themselves, and the attention is easy to distract. Students have already learned the vocabulary from Monday to Sunday and the vocabulary from January to December, but because of the complexity of the spelling, some students may find it a bit difficult. So through the relevant English songs and brainstorming to lead students to warm up and review. This lesson also learns some new words that express time, such as the day before yesterday, the day after tomorrow, and the working day. In response to students' existing knowledge reserves and language skills, design different levels of questions and activities in the teaching to enhance their awareness of classroom activities, encourage each student to speak, so that everyone can experience the success and happiness of English learning.

Step1. Revision and warming up
Listen to music the days of the week and the months.
Brainstorming about the questions
(1)How many days/months are there in a week/year What are they
(2)What’s the first day/month of the week/year
(3)What’s the last day /month of the week/year
(4)What day is it today
(5)What’s the date today

Step2. Pre-listening
1.Fill in the chart below. Write down the dates, and divide the days into weekdays and weekends.
2. Ask and answer questions about the days in 1a.

3.Talk about the picture in 1d with students.
T: Look at this picture. Who is the boy He is Vince. What sport does he like, do you know (Try to lead Ss to answer.)

Step2.While-listening
1. Ask students to listen for the first time to find the answer for the question “Can Vince play tennis with Andy ”. Circle Yes or No.
2. Ask students to listen again and match Vince’s activities with the days in 1d.
3. Ask students to check the answers in pairs. Ask and answer like this:
A: What is Vince going to do tomorrow
B: He is going to play soccer and he is going to have a piano lesson.
3. Listen for the third plete the listening text.
Vince ______ play tennis with Andy. He has to ______________ and study for a test today. Tomorrow, he has to ___________. After that, he ________________. And he may have to ________his little sister the day after tomorrow.
4. Listen and repeat . Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

Step3. Post- listening
T: If we want to accept an invitation but cannot do it now, it is important to propose another time (可另外建议一个时间).

B: Sorry, I can’t. I’m really busy this week. But how about next week
A: That would be great!
1. Role-play. One is Andy and the other is Vince. Andy, invites Vince to play tennis. Ask Ss to practice and role-play the conversations in pairs.
2. Do a Survey.
T: In order to have a good communication,there will be a group activity in our school this weekend. Would you like to go to the Holiday Beach(假日海滩) or Evergreen Park(万绿园)in Haikou We need to do a survey to see where you want to go and how many students can go. Now 6 people a plete the chart and then make a report.
