Step 1 Leading in1.Warming up by reviewing the important sentences learnt in Unit 1 like this:T:Good morning,boys and girls!T:How are you T:I’m OK./Fine,thanks. Then ask students to practice in pairs like that.2.Show some pictures to students and teach them to learn the new words..The students read them after the teacher twice and then read them by themselves.3.T:The sentence “What’s this/that in English ” means “这个/那个用英语怎么说 ”.It is used to ask the name of something.We should answer it like this:“It’s a / an + noun”.Here “It” is used to refer to this or that.What’s = What is,which means “是什么 ”.We use “this” to refer to something we are holding or that is very close to us.We use “that” to refer to something that is far from us.Then the teacher writes the important sentences and knowledge points on the blackboard.◆Step 2 Listen 3a1.Let students look at the picture of the room.There are corresponding English words beside the things.Let students say out the names of the things.Correct their pronunciation.2.Students listen to the tape and number the things they hear from 1 to 4.Check the answers together.3.Let students listen to the tape again,read after it and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.◆Step 3 Talk 3b1.Talk about the things in 3a.The teacher and a student make a model like this:T:What’s this in English T:What’s that in English 2.Let students talk about the things in the picture in 3a in pairs.Pay attention to using this and that correctly.3.Ask 4 pairs to show their dialogues in front of the class.◆Step 49 Listen and write 3c1.The teacher leads students to review the pronunciation rules of the 5 vowel letters in the stressed syllables.Then let students listen to the tape and fill the missing letters in the words according to the pronunciation rules.2.Students listen to the tape again and correct the answers together.3.Students read the words loudly.◆Step5 Listen and sing 3d1.Let students read the lyrics of the song and find the sentences they don’t understand.Then the teacher explains them like this:A in Grace的意思是“Grace”中的a发字母A的本音[eI]。Then let students understand the meanings of other similar sentences.2.Students listen to the tape and sing after it three times.The teacher encourages them to sing rhythmically.3.Let students sing in groups and see which group sings best.Step 6 Homework1.Memorize the new words learnt today by heart.2.Make a dialogue with the sentences we have learned today.【课堂练习】Ⅰ.单项选择1.—What’s this in English —    a ruler.
