(1) Help students to know the colors in traffic lights and ask them to obey the traffic rules.
(2) To motivate students to be more interested in English.
II. Teaching Key Points:
1. To recognize the names of eight colors.
2. Master the target sentences.
III. Teaching Difficult Points:
1. To recognize the colors of the real things in daily life.
2. Make a new dialogue about asking colors.
IV. Teaching Aids:
Cards, Pictures, Multimedia
V. Teaching Procedures:
Step1. Warm up
1. Greeting with students.
2. Listen to music and sing a song together.
3. Daily talk: ask students about the date and weather.
4. Watch a video about a colorful forest. Ask students what colors can they see in the video, then lead in the topic.
Step2. Presentation
1. Lead in the role of Snow White, then tell students that she will introduce her colorful forest.
2. Look at the picture of Snow White’s forest, ask students to observe the color of the sky, then ask them to say what color is the sky. Then read “black” together.
3. Continue to look at the picture, describe what happened in the forest, ask students what color is the tree. Then read “green” by groups and ask students to find something green around them.
4. Ask students to observe the forest and say what color does the sky and cloud change to. Then read “blue” and “white” together and use some pictures to practice the two words.
5. Tell students that some colors occurred in the sky and ask them what is the first color in the sky. Then read “red” and show a picture of apple to ask students what color is the apple.
6. Show the color of red and green, ask students to think and guess what color will it be when we put red and green together. Then watch a video to find the answer and then read “brown” by groups.
7. Ask students to look at the sky in the picture and ask them what is the second color in the sky. Then read “yellow” and show a picture of flower to ask students what color is the flower. Ask them to try to find something yellow around them.
8. Look at the sky in the picture and ask students what is the third color in the sky. Then read “pink” together and use some pictures to practice word.
9. Show a rainbow in the sky.
Step3. Practice
1. Play a game.
Ask students to look at the colors on the screen and try to remember the colors as soon as possible.
2. Find, point and say.
Ask students to look at the pictures and find the lizard, then point where is it and say what color is it.
3. Pair work.
Draw a picture on the screen, then ask students to use the sentences “What color is the …. ” “The … is ….” to color and finish the picture.
Step3. Production
Role play
Invite students to play the role of Monkey and Snow White, ask them to try to make a new dialogue about asking colors about animals.
Step4. Summary
1. Summarize the words and sentences together.
2. Look at the picture and say the emotional education.
3. Summarize the competition between groups.
