1.lake的意思是“湖”,一般指大面积的流动水域,船舶可在上面航行;pond的意思是“水池”,多为人工开凿而成,用于养鸭、养鱼之用。

There was a fish pond near the tree.
pool的意思是“水塘”,指小面积且水流慢的水域。

1. town的基本意思是“镇”,一般指大于乡(village)、小于城市(city)的“城镇”,是可数名词。
2. town也可指居住于一城镇的“全体居民”,此时为集合名词,常与定冠词the连用,只用于单数形式。当其作主语时,句子中的谓语动词可用单数形式,也可用复数形式。

everything 作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。
everything 与否定词连用时,表示部分否定。

trip n. 旅行
trip的基本意思是“行走,行驶”,引申可作“旅行”解,常指距离较近、时间较短的旅行,旅行结束后还要返回原地。可用作可数名词,也可用作不可数名词。
他们计划下个月去圭亚那旅行。
They are planning on a trip to Guyana next month.
shine v. 照耀
太阳在照耀着。
The Sun is shinning.
他兴奋得脸上发光。
His face shone with excitement.
brightly adv. 明亮地
明亮的月光透过窗户照了进来。
The Moon shone brightly through the window.

picnic n. 野餐
1.picnic作名词的意思是“野餐”,指人们自带食物去野外吃,尤指在旅游中,是可数名词,常与不定冠词连用。
2.去野餐常说go for a picnic或go on a picnic。
今天天气很好，我们去野餐吧。
It's a nice day. Let's go on a picnic.

during prep. 在…… 期间
during可以表示一定时间中的某个时间点,意思是“当…之际”; 还可表示一定时间中的某个时间段,意思是“在…期间”; 也可以表示在某事件过程中的某一时间点,意思是“在…时”;
during也可表示延续某事件的全过程,意思是“在…持续的时间”“在…整个期间内”。
在这个暑假期间他每天都游泳。
