It was meant to be the holiday of a lifetime-my first trip abroad alone, without my parents. I had organized everything myself and l would show them how independent I could be.
I had arranged to stay in a farmhouse outside a village in southern Italy. I was tired and depressed, and very, very hungry. I began to think my parents were right. Maybe I was too young to travel on my own. Luckily. Alessandro was a mechanic. After an hour. he fixed the car and we started driving again.
It was nearly midnight when we arrived at the farmhouse. A man opened the door and smiled. "Come in." he said. "We have been waiting for you." Hi, Emily. I think it's lucky for you that you have such good parents. You should understand and respect them, and do what they ask you to do. They have richer experience and better advice for young people. As your parents, they surely hope you become an excellent person. Their demands are helpful for your growing up.
Every family member should be responsible for something. So you should do what you can do, such as keep your room clean and do the washing up. Remember: Learning by doing. You should keep your hair tidy and wear smart clothes. Teenagers should look like teenagers.
Anyway, if you have any problems, just talk with your parents.
