Ⅰ. The Guiding Ideology and Theoretical Basis
As we know that the principles of communicative class can be reached only when teachers create appropriate experiential scenarios. And the teaching unceasingly establishes the classroom instruction situation, take the question as the master line, guides the student to cause suspicion, the question and answer, stimulates the student creative thought ability, is helpful smoothly achieves the teaching goal to the teacher.
Psychology demonstrate, pleasant learning can also prove to fully arouse students interest in learning, enthusiasm and play the potential of students, thus increasing memory effect. And the training aim in English teaching is to cultivate students not only to master fundamental language skills, but also to use foreign language to achieve communication. Let the student carry on the spirited language practice, enhances enthusiasm which the student studies.
The goal of Go for it! is to make language learning motivating and successful through a step-by-step progression that builds confidence and lead to open-ended activities where students can actively relate learning to their personal lives.
Ⅱ. Analysis of Materials
This is the first period of this unit, so the students only need to acquire how to use the key words to ask for others’ opinions about TV shows. First, learners should grasp the modals’ basic usages and differences. Next, learners should learn how to get reasonable preferences that are true for themselves.
Ⅲ. Analysis of Students
This class is for Ss in Grade Eight, and they have their own opinions about TV shows. During the teaching progress, the teacher can use some famous TV show pictures to make Ss feel directly. Perhaps the students lack the confidence, or they don’t communicate well orally. In order to help students grasp the key points well, I will use the following steps. First, talk free time activities to lead in the new topic in this unit. Next, provide step-by-step language support and clear models for students to follow. Then, activities encourage learners to contribute their own ideas and feelings and to be active in class, and develop students’ oral communication. Finally, look after health and don't watch TV too much.

1. Knowledge Objectives: ① To master the words and expressions soap opera, talk show, sports show, game
show, talent show, news, etc.
② To ask for others’ opinions about TV shows by using “What do you think of… ”
and show their feelings using “I can’t stand / don’t like /don’t mind /like / love…”
2. Ability Objectives: To talk about preference.
3. Moral Objectives: It’s good to relax by watching TV. But don’t watch TV too much. It’s bad for your eyes.
