When I was a tiny baby crying all night,
my mom sang to me and stayed by my side.
When I was tired and hungry,
she gave me food and warm arms to sleep in.
When I was two running through the field,
she made sure I was safe and kept me from danger.
When I fell and hurt myself,
she gave me a hug and lifted me up.

From the threads a mother's hand weaves,游 子 身 上 衣。
A gown for parting son is made.
临 行 密 密 缝,
Sown stitch by stitch before he leaves,
意 恐 迟 迟 归。
For fear his return be delayed.

Such kindness as young grass receives
报 得 三 春 晖。
From the warm sun can’t be repaid.
