Step 1 Warming-up 1. Greetings. Hello, boys and girls. Welcome back to school. 2. Free talk. 大屏幕出示林丹小时候的照片：Look, this is Lin Dan. He was six then. He was short. Now he’s tall. 学生介绍自己儿时的照片，回顾上节课所学内容。 【设计意图：以学生熟悉的人物，复习上节课主要句型，学生感兴趣。】 Step 2 Presentation 1.出示姚明，易建联幼时和现在的照片 T: Who are they S: They are…. T: Were they short ten years ago Ss: Yes, they were. But they are tall now.(引导学生回答并教师板书新知。) 引出新单词：were, but, ago，并操练。 操练形式：小火车，同桌俩，男女生，高低音等。操练单词时可以结合句子，Were they young But they are old now. They were short ten years ago. 学生结合句子操练单词，可以用汉语回答大意。 2．用图片教学单词 pupil, active, smart, naughty T: They were pupils, Were they active S: …. T: Is she smart/naughty T＆Ss: Practice: pupil, active, smart, naughty 结合句子操练单词，便于学生理解记忆。 【设计意图：学习并操练重点单词，为下一步进入课文Let’s read.做准备。】 Step 3 Practice ．Listen and say.
