Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science
Lesson type:New lesson teaching—listening and speaking
I. Teaching objectives
Knowledge aims:
1.To help the students learn the new words and phrases about jobs and career in this unit.
grow up, computer programmer, cook, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, doctor,college, education, medicine,
2.To help the students learn the following sentences.
① ─What do you want to be when you grow up
─I want to be a basketball player.
② ─How are you going to do that
─I’m going to practice basketball every day.
Skill aims:
1. Be able to recognize and use the target language in natural speech.
2. Be able to train the students’ abilities of listening , speaking, reading and writing.
Emotional aims:
1.To help students know the importance of the teamwork.
2.To develop the students' spirit of cooperation and the optimistic attitude.
3.To keep students’ interests in Englishh and give them a wide, democratic and complaisant class surroundings.
II. Teaching keys and difficulties
Key points:
1. To enable the students to learn the new words and the target language sentences.
2. To enable the students to use the sentence patterns about future careers freely, and further learn to talk about their ideals.
3. To know the simple future tense well
Difficult points:
1. Be able to talk about future career and take steps to get the job
2. Be able to recognize and use the target language in natural speech
III. Teaching methods and learning methods
Teaching methods:
1.“4P+A” teaching method:preparation, presentation , practice, production, assessment
2. Task-based and situational teaching methods
3. Communicative and cooperative teaching methods
Learning methods:
1. high-low voice, chain-work, playing games, guessing riddles
2. Practice while using
3. Consolidate by listening and speaking, playing games and doing survey
4. Train students to use “be going to” to talk about their own or other people's future career ideal and the way to realize the career ideal
IV. Teaching aids:
Multi-media, a textbook, a blackboard, chalk, etc.
V. Teaching procedures.
Step1. Warming up and lead-in p1.2
1. Greetings and divide the class into 4 groups
2. Enjoy a video about the dream《Be What you Wanna Be》

1. Ask students:

T: What do you want to be when you grow up Ss…
And help them to answer like this:
T: I want to be a teacher.
2. Show the picture on the screen and present the new words
pianist,violinist,scientist,pilot,cook,doctor,driver,computer programmer, engineer, grow up .
3.Talk about some famous people: Langlang, Jing Haipeng, Bill Gates. Ask the students to ask and answer:
─What do you want to be when you grow up
─I want to be a basketball player.
4.Continue the conversation above and present the topic sentences in groups.

Before listening
1.Tell students to read the words of jobs in 1b.Make sure they know the meaning of the words and phrases.
While listening
1. Play the recording for the first time and ask students to listen and fill in the blanks.
2. Play the recording for the second time and ask students to listen and match the jobs with activities.
3. Play the recording again. Ask students to listen and repeat , paying attention to their pronunciation and intonation.
4. Show the answers on the big screen.
