Pre-task preparations
1. Warm up : Animals
2. Show a riddle, then guess it .
3. Show a passage about Pat. Teach the key word : forest
4. Practise in pairs : Is there a/ an... in the forest

Are there any... in the forest
Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
5. Lead in : There is an animal school in the forest.
There are no classrooms in the school.
6. Make up the sentences with “ There is a /an... in the... “ and “ There are no... in the ... “
7. Talk about the story: Mr Owl is the teacher of the school. Pat goes to school with her friends. They come to the river ... Then they come to the tree. Teaching “ Come on ... “
8. Brain storm: Can Pat swim

9. Because Pat can’t do this or that. So she says: I’m not a good pupil. (Teaching : pupil ) But Mr Owl tells her : That’s not true.
