Around the world, support is growing for electric cars. China has encouraged people to buy electric cars to reduce pollution. Some European countries aim to be all-electric by 2040 or sooner. However, charging these cars has been a problem.
Public charging stations are not built evenly around the world. Places with lots of support from governments, like China and the Netherlands, have thousands of public charging stations. But in many places, there are not many public chargers. That’s a problem for people who need to drive further than 200 miles.
This situation worries many potential(潜在的) electric car owners. “If I can’t charge, there’s no way for me to choose an electric car,” says Solie, who works far from his home.
Mr. Romano, CEO of Charge Point, says, “Workplaces should have around 2.5 chargers for every electric car. Highways need one every 50 to 75 miles.”
Luckily, car makers and governments are trying to close the gap. The number of chargers grew by 72 percent to more than 3,322,000 last year, the International Energy Agency says. BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Ford are building 400 fast-charging stations in Europe.

Nowadays, we can find robots easily around us. Some do very complicated(复杂的) jobs, like flying airplanes and driving subway trains. Others do simple and tiring jobs. When an automatic washing machine is turned on, water pours in. The machine waits until the water is warm enough for washing clothes. It does this by “feedback(反馈)”. Information about what is happening is fed back into the robot to tell what to do next. Our eyes, ears and other senses are our feedback. They tell us what is going on around us, so robots are like human beings in two ways. They can work and they have feedback.
In some ways robots are better than human beings. They work quickly and do not make mistakes. They do not get bored even doing the same job again and again. And they never get tired, so robots are very useful in factories. They can be taught to do many different jobs, but some people show their worries that robots will take the place of human beings. 500 men and 500 women were interviewed about their worries.
