Baleen whales include blue whales, gray whales, right whales, minke whales and so on.
Killer whales, sperm whales and white whales belong to toothed whale.
Generally speaking, baleen whales are larger than toothed whales.
This is a killer whale, black and white and fish-shaped. They can be up to 10 meters long and weigh about 9 tons. They usually live and work in a team. Their food includes all kinds of animals in the sea, even other whales. They are like tigers on land. They are considered as “The King of the Sea.”
Name: killer whale Color: black & white
Shape: fish shaped Size: 8m to 10m

Whaling
What are the people doing
They are hunting whales. It is called whaling. The people who hunt whales are called whalers.
Why do they hunt whales
Because whales provide meat and oil, which is beneficial to people, especially baleen
whales have rich oil. The oil can be used for lamps, cream, soaps, perfumes and so on. So they are hunted in large numbers.
Whaling operated between the 1830s and the 1920s in Australia. The last whaling station
in Australia closed in 1978. Whales are now protected by an international ban on whaling.
