一、形容词
1．形容词的定义
形容词修饰名词或代词，说明事物或人的性质或特征。它是一种开放词类，在句中主要做修饰成分。

作定语 （1）前置，通常位于所修饰的词前 （2）后置，一般修饰不定代词 He is a nice man.

作状语 多位于句首或句尾，有时也可位于主语后面 Ripe, these apples are sweet.

二、副词
1．副词的定义
副词是用来修饰动词、形容词、其他副词以及全句的词类，表示时间、地点、程度、方式等。

作状语 （1）副词修饰动词时通常位于动词之后 （2）程度副词一般放在它所修饰的形容词/副词前,但enough应放在它所修饰的词之后 (3)频度副词通常放在实义动词前或系动词后 (4)修饰全句的副词通常位于句首,有时也可以放在句尾 Children are playing outside.
