教学目标:
1. 学生能听说、认读本课句型中出现的单词pretty, lovely, nice, cute, happy, 以及短语the Christmas tree, the Christmas gift, the Christmas card。
2. 学生能理解并运用Look at … . How ... it is! 赞美事物,表达感情。
3. 学生能在教师的引导下简单的介绍圣诞节的时间,祝福语,颜色,标志物,食物及活动。
4. 学生能够通过本课的学习,了解到描述一个节日可以从哪几个方面入手。
5. 学生能够有积极乐观的心态,看到事物美好的一面并进行赞美。

Step 1: Warming up
1. Sing a song.
T: Let’s enjoy a Christmas song. If you want, you can sing it.
S: Enjoy and sing it.
2. Free talk.
T: From the song, we know that we are going to talk about Christmas Day. Last Sunday was Christmas Day. Did you have a good time on Christmas Day
S: Yes. / No.
T: What did you do on Christmas Day
S: I got a Christmas gift. I like it. …..
3. Brain storming.
T:You did many things on Christmas Day. Now, Can you tell me when the Christmas Day is
S: It’s on December 25th.
T: What do we say on Christmas Day
S: Merry Christmas.
T: What are the main colors of Christmas
S: Red, green and white.

教学指导策略:学生通过欣赏和演唱圣诞歌曲 “Merry Christmas”,初步感知今天谈论的话题“Christmas Day”。学生在老师的引导下谈论自己是怎样过圣诞节的,唤起学生对圣诞节的美好回忆。学生通过头脑风暴的活动,了解圣诞节的时间、祝福语、主要颜色和圣诞节标志物。 初步感知圣诞节的文化习俗。
Step 2: Dialogue Learning
1. Learn dialogue one.
T: There are many things on Christmas Day. So does Guoguo’s home. Guoguo wants to have a Christmas party at home. Look, who is coming
S: Kate is coming.
T: What does Kate see at Guoguo’s home Let’s watch.
S: (Watch the video and answer the question.) Kate sees a Christmas tree.
T: How do you know that What does Kate say
S: Look at the Christmas tree. How pretty it is!
T: What does “pretty” mean
S: Beautiful. / Nice.
T: The Christmas tree is pretty. Do you like it
S: Yes.
T: Does Guoguo like it Let’s listen.
S: Yes, I like it.
T: How do they greet
S: Merry Christmas!
T: What does Guoguo say
S: Merry Christmas to you, too.
T: What else can Guoguo say
S: The same to you.
T: Now, let’s make a role play. Please work in pairs. One is Guoguo and the other one is Kate. Let’s go.
S: (Work in pairs and show it.)
2. Learn dialogue two.
T: This time, Guoguo has a good idea. What is it Let’s Listen.
S: Listen and repeat. “Let’s go out and play.”
T: If you are Kate, what will you say
S: OK, Let’s go.
T: What do they see outside Let’s watch.
S: (Watch the video and answer the question.) They see a snowman.
T: What does Kate say
S: Look at the snowman. It has a big nose.

教学指导策略:学生在教师的问题引领下,通过动画试听的方式,学习本课的功能句 Look at the …. How… it is! 教师师在课文的基础上,为学生补充了表达喜爱某物的用语 Yes, I like it. 以及衔接课文上下两个情景的语言 Let’s go out and play. OK, let’s go. 使对话的语言更加完整,情景过渡更自然。
3. Read and act the dialogue.

教学指导策略:学生通过跟读课文对话,完整的输入对话语言并熟悉对话内容,通过分角色表演,进一步理解对话内容,内化所学语言。
Step 3:Learn new words and practice.
1. Wheel game.
T: Here is a big wheel. I will roll it. When it stop, you can use these sentences to talk about it.
S1: Look at the Christmas gift / card / bell / stocking.
S2: How pretty / cute / lovely / beautiful it is!
教学指导策略:游戏使用的转盘分为内外两圈,内圈是形容词nice, pretty, cute lovely, beautiful, big 等,外圈是圣诞节的标志性物品的图片Christmas gift, Christmas card, bell, Christmas stocking, candy cane等。当转盘旋转停止时,学生要根据指针所指的内容进行对话,如:Look at the Christmas gift. How pretty it is! 学生通过转盘游戏,学习Let’s act版块的内容。教师在此为学生扩充了有关圣诞节标志物的词汇:Christmas bell 和 Christmas stocking.学生在学习新的词汇的同时,反复操练了本课的功能句Look at the….How … it is! 为综合语言的运用奠定了基础。
2. Game: What’s in my bag
T: As we know, there are many things in Santa’s bag. What are they Let’s touch and say.
S: (Take out one thing from the bag.)
Look at the snowman. How beautiful it is!
教学资源运用:圣诞节标志性物品
教学指导策略:教师为学生准备一些圣诞节的标志性物品,学生从袋子中摸出,并用本课的重点语言赞美这个物品,表达自己的喜爱。在这个活动中,学生会遇到一些新的词汇,如:candy cane, Christmas hat等,教师适时指导,以保证学生能够顺利的表达。学生在活动中运用所学语言,并扩充新的词汇。
3. Talk about the Christmas Party.
T: We play games at the party. Now it’s time to have dinner. Look, Guoguo and her friends have a big dinner. What do they have
S: They have cake, pudding, turkey and candies. (Students learn the new words “pudding and turkey” by pictures.)
T: These foods are yummy. They have a big dinner. What else do they do at the party
S: (Students look at PPT and answer.) They sing and dance.
T: Do you want to sing
S: Yes. (Students sing “Jingle bells.”)

Step 4: Production
Introduce the Christmas Day.
1. Teacher set an example.
T: Now we have known many things about the Christmas Day. Let’s try to introduce it.
Example: Christmas Day is on December 25th. We say “Merry Christmas!” on that day. Red, green and white are Christmas colors. Look at the Christmas tree. How nice it is! Look at the Christmas gift. How lovely it is! We have a big party on Christmas Day. We have cake, pudding, turkey and cookies. We sing and dance. We take photos. We exchange gifts. We are very happy on Christmas Day.
2. Students talk with their partners and show.
S: Introduce the Christmas Day.

1. Summary
T: Today we talk about the Christmas Day. We know when the Christmas Day is, Christmas greetings, the colors of Christmas Day, the things we see on Christmas day, the food we eat on Christmas day, the activities we do on Christmas day and the feelings on Christmas day.
2. Homework:
Make a Christmas poster or mind map and introduce it to your friends.
