Last week, I watched a film called Coraline &the Secret Door(《鬼妈妈》) with my friends. The horror film is based on the book Coraline & the Secret Door by British writer Neil Gaiman. But here is the thing: children had better watch this film with adults.
In the film,a young girl named Coraline has moved into her new home with her family. This might sound fun, but her parents are boring. They hate mud (泥) and do not let her play in the garden. They cook terrible food, and worst ofall, they don't talk to her often because they are both busy working.
However, things begin to change after Coraline finds a small hidden door and a road leading her to a new world. Everything is perfect there. Her parents are funny and they buy her everything she wants. Coraline is really happy, but one thing worries her—all the people there have buttons(纽扣) for eyes. One day, Coraline is asked if she wants to put buttons into her own eyes so that she can stay in this wonderful world forever. While she is thinking about this, she discovers something terrible. She has to do something to save her family.
The film tells an amazing story. It has given me a great lesson—be careful with what you wish for. I personally don't think it is that scary, though some people might.
This film was made through the stop-motion animation(定格动画), which means the characters were all made out of clay models(泥塑模型) and that the motion was filmed one frame(画面) at a time. It must have been hard to make this film.

For me, one of the greatest pleasures in life is going to watch a great film at the cinema. It's a chance for me to get away from real life. There's nothing better than being lost in a story unless, of course, someone decides to break the moment.
Whether at a cinema or a huge theatre, someone usually decides to treat the place like his own home! There is an unacceptable way of behaving at the cinema which some people don't seem to understand.
To start with, some people always turn up late, causing you to rise from your seat to allow them to go past. Then, when you want to enjoy the surround-sound effects, someone begins to enjoy his drinks and popcorn and thus makes a lot of noise. And I can’t stand that people decide to chat to their friends, sometimes even not about the film.
I'm not alone in this situation. Simon Mayo, a film critic at the BBC, experienced a“new low”during a film. He says,“The woman in front of me got a mirror out, then her boyfriend got a phone out and used the light on it to allow her to put on her make-up!”
Simon has helped to create a list of rules on how moviegoers should behave at the cinema. One of them is no use of mobile phones, and another is not to take your shoes off—the most serious offence(冒犯)!
Of course, when we have paid for a ticket, we feel it is our right to relax and enjoy the film in the way we want to, but we mustn't forget our fellow moviegoers who want to enjoy the cinematic experience too.
The best choice for anyone wanting to break the rules of cinema manners is to get a DVD and watch it at home. But we all know that the best way to enjoy the art of cinematography is on the big screen._▲_
What about you What annoys you about other people at the cinema
4 2 . Why does the writer enjoy going to the cinema
A. Because it makes him feel like being at home.
B. Because it gives him a moment to stay away from real life.
C. Because he prefers watching the films on the big screen.
D. Because he wants to enjoy the cinematic experience.
4 3 . What is considered by Simon to be the rudest at a cinema
A. Using mobile phones.
B. Chatting to their friends.
C. Taking the shoes off.
D. Having drinks and eating popcorn.
44.“ ” is the best sentence to fill in “ ▲_” in Paragraph 7.
A. Don't break the rules!
B. Manners are important!
C. Just stay at home!
D. It's your choice!
4 5 . Which of the following can be the best title for the passage
A. Popular cinemas B. A serious problem
C. Cinema manners D. An unpleasant experience

Eddie Redmayne picked up the Oscar for Best Actor for playing Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything(《万物理论》). He even received a warm message from Hawking himself.
Redmayne took acting classes from a young age. He attended the Eton School with Prince William and studied art history at Cambridge, and won his first theatre award in 2004. But the freckle-faced(脸上长雀斑的) actor waited until The Theory of Everything for his first leading role.
Redmayne was excited and nervous when he got the chance. To play a great thinker is challenging for any actor. Playing Hawking requires even more courage because the world-famous physicist was diagnosed(诊断) with ALS(肌肉萎缩性侧索硬化症),a muscle disease with no cure, at the age of 21.
He spent four months studying Hawking’s life and watched every documen-tary he could find on the scientist. He also met with more than 30 patients to understand how ALS affected Hawking. He lost 15 pounds(about 6.8kg) for the role and grew long fingernails after learning this was Hawking's habit.
Upon winning the Best Actor Award, Redmayne also won the audiences’hearts. His emotions were on full display as he walked up to the stage, before announcing,“I'm fully sure that I am a lucky, lucky man. This Oscar belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS.”
