How Successful People Spend the Last Hour of Their Workday
As the hours of peak productivity start to decline, most of us begin watching the clock, eager to get away from our desks. But ending the workday with purpose can boost success both inside and outside of the office, which helps us to work tomorrow. ____16____
Many of us spend our last hour of work making a to-do list for tomorrow. ____17____ “The last hour of a day should be spent on reflection—the failures and successes,”says Levin, founding editor of Real Leaders. He recommends writing down the day’s wins rather than failures or to-dos, and reviewing your list of successes once a month.
The chances are that a long day of meetings and decision-making leaves you feeling completely fried by four or five o’clock. However, we still hope our last hour of work is effective and efficient. ____18____ These tasks won’t demand much brainpower, but research shows they could make a big difference to your overall productivity.
Successful people never bring the day’s failures home. Instead, they end their day by making analysis of the problems they encountered, brainstorming possible solutions. ____19____ Waking up with a purposeful goal in mind can make them feel more active to the first item that happens to them. Eventually, they will deal with those problems with renewed energy after a good night's sleep
____20____ If your day often winds down by four or five o’clock, Levin recommends taking advantage of the quiet time by checking in with yourself, it can include planning your next tasks or learning the latest content in your field.
A. And then leave them for tomorrow.
B. Thus, put them into practice as soon as possible.
C. Successful people review the day they just had, instead.
D. You have to increase your productivity to meet your deadline.
E. It's better to knock out small projects like tidying up your desk
F We can learn how successful people spend the last hour of their workday.
G. Like regular check-ins with your boss, schedule a daily meeting with yourself.

We all do it. We put off that annoying task for five more minutes, then for thirty minutes, then for hours, until it doesn't get done at all.____16____We spend so much time stressing over the unfinished task. Caught up in the cycle of procrastination(拖延), we almost forget how to effectively tackle hard tasks. However, there is something you can do to nip procrastination in the bud and take back control over your daily life.
____17____We only have a limited supply of willpower. Once it's been used up for the day, chances of us tackling hard tasks are pretty slim. Dive into your hardest task when your energy level is at its highest. This will ensure the best results.
Divide the task into smaller tasks. We tend to get overwhelmed when a giant project comes ahead of us, not knowing where to start. Keep in mind that forests are made up of individual trees. Though unable to take down a whole forest at once, you could certainly start with one tree or even a branch____18____Complete a small step each day, and you'll feel less worried with each new task you accomplish.
Schedule your tasks on the calendar.____19____To avoid this, create a practical plan, It will help you move past the initial paralysis you feel. Instead of just writing the tasks down in a to-do list, take it a step further and identify when and how you'll accomplish it. This will help avoid a large part of what holds you back.____20____
Though it feels impossible, you can accomplish everything you need to every single day. With a fresh perspective and a detailed plan, you'll be on your way to ending your procrastination once and for all.
A. Tackle the most difficult task first.
B. Creating the plan is half the battle
C. Dedicate yourself for a small period of time.
D. And the worst part is that we still find it hard to enjoy our day.
E. Break down what seems impossible into small achievable parts.
F. Just set an alarm on our phone to ring at a fixed moment every day.
G. Nothing can make us more guilty than ending a day without a single task accomplished.

We all agree that we should recycle more — at home, in the office or when out and about. But for materials to be recycled, they first need to find their way to the right waste stream. ___16___ This is what the process of sorting allows us to do.
For effective recycling we need effective sorting. And this needs to happen first, in our own home and second, in sorting plants to which waste collected from our doorstep is taken. When you put a plastic bottle in the right recycling bin, you are helping sort recyclables. So the right material can be fed into the right recycling process. ___17___ They can be a loss of valuable resources from our economy.
___18___ For instance, in Brussels, Belgium, consumers put plastic packaging, cans and beverage cartons in blue bags designed for recyclable packaging; paper in yellow bags for recycling; and glass needs to be taken to specific collection bins. Somewhat differently, in Vienna (Austria), citizens can expect their paper, metal, glass and plastic to be separately collected in different weeks of the year. ___19___ In this way, they can sort their recyclables at home more effectively.
Once recyclable materials are collected from your doorstep, they are further sorted in specialized facilities which ensure the quality of the recycling process. ___20___ Traditionally, sorting has been done either manually with workers sorting what can be recycled and picking out the materials to be discarded or mechanically. Today, however, new technologies are being developed in order to speed up the process of sorting but to also yield better results. Exciting technologies using magnets or optical systems are being used to effectively sort materials so more of it can be recycled.
A. If sorting doesn't happen, recyclable materials can end up in landfills.
B. This is where different sorting techniques come into play.
C. In Europe, collection systems vary from country to country.
D. So citizens need to be aware of their local collection system.
E. Then they can be collected and taken to the right place for recycling.
F. The rest, though they could be recycled and reused, were landfilled or burned.
G. In recent years, Europe has seen a 25% growth in recycling secondary raw materials.
