Teaching Aids: audiotape, PowerPoint, pictures.
Type of lesson: New lesson
Teaching Procedure:
Step1. Introduce myself.
Hello everyone! My name is Zhang Xiuling. I’m from Dingzhou, Hebei. I work in Hanjiawa Middle School. Welcome to my class.
Step2. Show Time
Four or more students come to the front to show their dialogues.
Step3. Present.
1. Show the third PowerPoint. Talk about the boy and the girl. Teach the key words: flat, upon
2. Show the fourth to the seventh PowerPoints. Teach some new words.
3. Show the eighth to the fourteenth PowerPoints. Learn the sentences.
4.Go over the new words.
Step4. Read the sentences on Page38.
Step5. Chain drill.
Using the focus structures.
A: I’m 1.6 metres tall. How tall are you
B: I’m 1.65 metres tall. How tall is A
C: She is 1.6 metres tall.
Step6. Listen to the tape and then match the people with their heights.
Step7. Summary.
1.He is 1.85 metres tall .他身高1.85米.
表示身高,长度,宽度,深度等测量结果时,可以用 数词+量词+形容词来表达。
The road is 1.6 kilometres long.
The desk is 1 metre wide(宽的,广泛的).
2.She’s a bit short. 她有点矮。
a bit “有点,稍微” = a little 用来修饰形容词。
I feel a bit tired .= I feel a little tired. 我感觉有点累。
修饰名词时,a bit后加of. “一点儿,少量”
I am a bit thirty. I want to drink a bit of water. =I am a little thirty. I want to drink a little water.我有点渴。我想要喝一点儿水。
3.Standing up against the wall.靠墙站立。
4.Standing flat upon the ground.直直地站在地面上。upon相当于on。
Step8. Drill.
