三、阅读理解
In Britain you may often hear “Drop in any time” or “Come to see me soon”, but you can’t really do that. People just say those things to make you feel welcome. It is better to telephone before visiting someone at home. If you receive a written invitation to an event that says “RSVP”, you should reply to let the person who sent the invitation know whether or not you plan to go.
You should never accept an invitation unless you really plan to go. You may refuse by saying,“Thank you for inviting me, but I will not be able to come.” If, after accepting, you are unable to go, be sure to tell those who are expecting you as soon as possible that you will not be there.
Though it is not necessarily expected that you give a gift to your host, it is considered polite to do so, especially if you have been invited for a meal. Flowers, chocolate, and a small gift are all appropriate (合适的). A thank-you note or telephone call after the visit is also considered polite and is an appropriate way to express your appreciation for the invitation.
1.What can you do when a British friend says, “Drop in any time”
A.Visit him or her at any time.
B.Say no time to him or her seriously.

2.What should you do if your British friend sends you an invitation but you do not want to go
A.Do not give him or her an answer.
B.Tell another friend to go instead of you.

D.Tell him or her that you don’t want to go there.
3.Which of the following is considered impolite in Britain
A.Refuse the invitation without telling anyone.

Wu Yuefeng, 16, usually has lunch with his classmates in their cafeteria at Hangzhou Xuejun High School in Zhejiang Province. But the other day, the school principal (校长) joined them all the same table. They talked about the food the cafeteria offers and had a nice chat.
Wu is not alone. Many students across China now have the chance to eat with their principals. The government issued (颁布) a notice on food safety and nutrition (营养) management in schools, requiring principals from kindergartens to high schools to have meals with students.
Wu's school now has seats for school principals to use when they eat with students. After talking with the students, they have to write reports and make suggestions to cafeteria workers. Wu and his classmates received a questionnaire (问卷) recently as well, which asked about the food that he most likes. To his surprise, his favorite dish appeared in the cafeteria the next week. “It's not just about the food. It makes me feel that I have a say in school.” explained Wu. “My ideas are valued.”
Some principals regard these mealtime conversations as their main chance to communicate with students. Tianjin Daily noted that after one meal, Sun Jiankun, the principal of Tianjin High School, noticed that some students preferred meat to vegetables. “We are thinking about how to improve the cafeteria's dishes and provide students with a healthy diet,” he said.
Meanwhile, students including Wu Yuefeng are also giving principals their suggestions. Wu suggests that more windows should be open. And another student of his school suggests that students should be asked to stagger (错开) their lunch breaks. Because they have to wait a long time in front of the window. And it can make a meal time an unpleasant experience.
1.The other day, the school principal joined Wu Yuefeng and his classmate for ________ in the school cafeteria.
2.Principals from kindergartens to high schools are required to ________.
3.What do the principals from Wu's school have to do after they talk with the students at lunch time
4.找出并写下最后一段的主题句。
