Learning objectives

Loss of plosion
When two plosive consonants (e.g. /t/, /d/, /p/, /b/, /k/ or /g/) are next to each other, we do not pronounce the first one, and there is usually a short pause between them. We call this the loss of plosion.

爆破音是指发音器官在口腔中形成阻碍,然后气流快速冲破阻碍而发出的音,
爆破音音有6个,即 /t/, /d/, /p/, /b/, /k/ or /g/。
由双唇、上齿龈后与舌尖、舌根与硬颚阻碍发音气流的通道,然后突然放松
并送气,从而发出爆破的声音。
在某些情况下,发爆破音时,气流不必冲破阻碍,而只是发音器官在口腔中形成阻碍,并稍做停顿,(也就是说,做好要发出这个爆破音的准备,但不要发出音来),这样的发音过程叫作"不完全爆破"。

当一个爆破音后面紧跟着另一个爆破音时,前面那个爆破音只保留了口型和舌位(形成阻碍),不发生爆破。发音时在爆破音只保留发音位置并稍作停留,后面的音正常发音。
前面的爆破音只是做好这个发音的姿势,只在口腔中形成阻碍,不要发出音来,稍做停顿后随即发出后面的爆破音。

朗读规则要注意:“失去爆破”的现象在同一个单词内部和两个单词之间都存在。

Everyone has his or her own special memory. As for my special memory,it was one Sunday five years ago. My father and I went fishing in a small river. Everything was fine at first and we had a very good time.
Suddenly we heard someone crying," Help! Help!" Then,we saw a man in the river not very far from us.
My father jumped into the river at once without taking off his shoes. He swam towards the man, grabbed him from his back and took him to the bank. The man thanked my father again and again. We went home without any fish that day.

One day I went shopping with my mother. After we got what we need, my mother went to
pay the bill. She gave the shop assistant two hundred yuan. The shop assistant gave back seventy yuan for change. My mother put it into the pocket.
Then, we were ready to leave. When I checked the list and bill, I found that the shop assistant made a mistake. He gave us another twenty yuan.
Later, I told my mother and we went to tell the shop assistant. The shop assistant took back the money and said thanks to us. He also said I was honest.
This is a special memory for me. I didn' t take the extra money, but I got thanks from others.
