Lesson 8: A Universe of Thought教学设计
Step 1 Lead-in and warm-up
Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you. I will show a picture of Albert Einstein and ask “Do you know who he is Can you tell us something about him ” Some students answer “Yes, he is born in Germany. He is a great scientist. He is most famous for his Theory of Relativity…” So, let’s learn Lesson 8: A Universe of Thought. Learn more about Albert Einstein.
Learning aims :
1.Master the key words and expressions
2.Be able to introduce the lifetime of Einstein
3.Learn from Einstein and study hard for our aims .
Important and difficult points of this lesson:
As for the important point, I’d like to help my students to get the meaning and structure of this lesson.
As for the difficult point, I’d like to help them to retell the text.
Step 2 Listening
Listen and choose the thing about Einstein that is Not mentioned in the lesson.

Step 3 Fast reading
Get some simple information about the text. Here students work individually.
Step 4 Careful reading
Here I ask students to read the text in groups of four. On the one hand, they can get the key information of each paragraph and answer some more difficult questions . On the other hand, they get the opportunity to practice speaking English. I’d like my students work in pairs. Play games and show their reading abilities in the front of the classroom . Here I design a short passage based on the text for my students to complete. They have to complete it using the key words of this lesson . Here students work together.

Step 5 Retell
I lead my students to retell, and then ask them to retell with me, and then I’ll give them 2 minutes to practice. After that, I’ll ask some of them to retell with the hints.
