① To improve the students oral-speaking abilities.
②To improve the students awareness and ability of cross-culture.
③To cultivate their ability to discover analyze and solve problems.
3. Moral goals: Arouse their pride as a Chinese and the interest in learning English.

Teaching procedures
Step 1: Organization
Greet the students in everyday English.
Step 2: Warming up
1. Free talk.
Ask one or more of the following:
Have you ever finished your paper
2. Lead in
The teacher plays a music and let the students guess the name of song.
Step 3: Vocabulary teaching
The teacher shows a map of China, a map of world , a flag of China and some pictures to the students.
Let Ss look at the real things and pictures and learn the new words.
Let Ss turn to page 136 and read the new words after teacher. Ask one student to teach others.
Step 4: Listen and read.
1. Let Ss look at the screen and listen to the part 1 of the lesson. Pay attention to the underlined words. Then let Ss listen to part1 the second time and read after it.
2. Let Ss look at the screen and listen to the part 2 of the lesson. Pay attention to the underlined words. Then let Ss listen to part2 the second time and read after it.
Step 5: Languages points:

Step6: Reading.
Let students read the sentences and match them with the correct pictures. Then check the answers.

Open your mouth. Let Ss take a deep breath and read the sentences as many as possible. Who can read more times
Go over the different sentences.
Step 8: Work in groups.
Let the students talk about China in groups and fill in the table. Oral practice.
