  此画可以说是伦勃朗艺术和生活的一个重要转折点伦勃朗因为把艺术,名誉和自由看得比金钱更重要而不愿迎合资产阶级和小市民那种平庸的艺术趣味而降低作品的艺术性,不愿放弃自己的美学观点和表现手法,因此而得罪了那些没有丝毫艺术欣赏力的订画者,在生活上很快沦为贫民,而且从此不再收到他们的订单了。《夜巡》一画作于1642年,尺寸为363X437厘米,现藏于阿姆期特丹国立美术馆。此画是为阿姆斯特丹城射手连队画的一幅群像。射手们每人出一百弗罗仑(荷币),各自认为自己理所当然地与别人占在同等的位置。然而,伦勃朗却没有按照这些人的要求和趣味,把射手们安排在豪华的宴会或欢快的娱乐中,去表现每个人物的多少带有些做作的豪情和风姿,如哈尔期常做的那样更没有把众多的人物并列起来,仅仅作为肖像来画。画家为了不便众多的人物捆塞在画面,对构图进行了精心设计,尽量使每个人都能看见又安排和错落有致,同时还使中心人物斑宁。柯克中尉及副手极为突出。此画的光和色彩的表现也是令人惊叹的。原画表现的是白天,因长期烟薰,颜色变黑人们误称为"夜巡"。这幅杰出的艺术佳作却满足不了枪手们的趣味而导致画家迅速步入不幸之中!Thank you!
