My six-year-old boy Jonathan broke a limb of my azalea (杜鹃花) bush and asked me, “Can I take this to school today, mom” With a wave of my hand, I sent him off. And then I turned my back so he couldn’t see the tears in my eyes.
I was in low spirits all day, washing and drying clothes, and thinking how love had disappeared from my life. As hanging up the last of my husband’s shirts, I looked at the clock—4:30. Jonathan’s class ended at 3:15. It was late and I hurriedly drove to the school.
I was out of breath by the time I knocked on the teacher’s door. I peered through the glass. She opened the door and let me in.
“I want to talk to you about Jonathan,” she said. I prepared myself for the worst. Nothing would have surprised me. “Did you know Jonathan brought flowers to school today ” she asked. I nodded, thinking about my favorite bush and trying to hide the hurt in my eyes.
“Let me tell you what happened yesterday,” the teacher continued. “See that little girl ” I saw a bright-eyed child laugh and point to a colorful picture taped to the wall. “Well, yesterday she was almost crazy. Her mother and father are going through a divorce. She told me she didn’t want to live. She wished she could die. I did all I could to comfort her, but it only seemed to make matters worse.”
“Today I watched your son walk to that child and hand her some pretty pink flowers, whispering something.”

Mr. Dash wood was a very helpful, kindh-earted and generous man. He was always ready to help others, and never expected anything in return. One day, while taking a walk in a dusty street, he found a purse on the ground. He picked it up and noticed that the purse was empty. Suddenly a woman with a policeman turned up and got him arrested.
The woman kept on asking him what he had done with her money, but Mr. Dashwood replied, “It was empty when I found it, Madam.” The woman yelled at him, “Please give my money back! It’s for my son’s school fees.” Noticing the woman was really sad, and that she was a single mother, he handed all his money to her, saying, “Take these, sorry for the inconvenience.” The woman left, but Mr Dashwood was kept for further questioning.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
When I walked into the George Washington University Hospital with my therapy dog Willow on a late February evening, I had no idea that we were about to meet a young man, not even 25, fighting for his life in the ICU that night. Sam almost died when he was involved in an accident on his way home from work one day. He got numerous surgeries, among them two below knee amputations (截肢).
The ICU room was dark and cool when we entered. I could see Sam’s father sitting in a chair in a dark corner of the room, gazing down to the busy street below. He nodded hello, but did not speak. Sam’s mother was quickly pacing to and fro, trying to keep Sam comfortable and speaking encouraging words.
Sam was quiet. He was unaware at the time that he had lost his legs. But he just was not responding to the people in his room. Then something amazing happened; he saw Willow. I saw his hand slip from his lap to down below his bed rail and his fingers start to make a scratching motion. Willow ran right up to his bedside, expertly sliding her head right beneath his awaiting fingers.
I walked out of the ICU room completely overwhelmed with grief and a feeling of complete inadequacy in my ability to bring any kind of healing to this family. Just then I felt a strong grip on my forearm. I turned around and saw Sam’s mom.
“Will you come back tomorrow ” she asked.
I wanted to turn and run away, but I looked down at Willow, who had none of those feelings and whose eyes showed nothing but love and compassion, and before I knew it, the words “Yes, we will” had left my lips. I cried my whole drive home that night.

I did come with Willow the next day, and so did the day after the next. The night before Sam left hospital was a happy occasion for all us.

【答案】I knew at once what had happened and felt my heart swell with pride. I smiled at the teacher. “Thank you,” I said, reaching for Jonathan’s hand, “You’ve made my day.” While driving back home, I still recalled the love Jonathan showed the little girl and realized that it was what I needed to show my family members. Therefore, when my husband came back home, I snapped a small limb bristling with hot pink azaleas off the bush. I handed him the flowers. “I love you,” I said.
In the evening, my husband and I sat in the sitting room, talking about the bush. We used to love azaleas because they were beautiful, but on that day we knew that they could also bring hope and love to others. We decided to plant more azaleas. At this moment, Jonathan came up behind us, apologizing for pulling up our favorite azalea. With tears in my eyes, I hold him in my arms. “You did the right thing, my son,” I said. “We are proud of you.”

I did come with Willow the next day, and so did the day after the next. Every day as soon as we entered the ward, Willow would run to Sam's bedside and licked him gently, and then it would lie down beside his bed and accompanied him. In response, Sam would also caress its head. Over time, they developed such a deep friendship that they would feel uncomfortable when they couldn't see each other. With Willow's company, Sam became optimistic again. It was obvious that Willow played a positive role in Sam's treatment. Finally, the news came that Sam had reached the discharge standard.
The night before Sam left hospital was a happy occasion for all of us. We held a big party in the ward to celebrate Sam's discharge from hospital. At the party, everyone was very delighted. Sam's mother sincerely appreciated our efforts, and I owe it to Willow. When we parted, Sam was very reluctant and asked to see Willow once a week after he was discharged from the hospital. I agreed because I knew that Willow would also miss Sam.
