2.To master the past continuous tense (P105)
3.To master the use of when, while and as (P119)
4.To master the passive voice in the simple future tense (P107)

Teaching steps:
Step1:Words
1.Show the students some pictures about natural disasters, the students name them.
2.Ss read the words together.
(设计意图:通过图片复习natural disasters的相关词汇,生动形象,也易于激发学生的学习兴趣,活跃了复习课相对沉闷的气氛。)
Step2:Taiwan Earthquake
1.Show a picture of the Taiwan Earthquake.
2.Complete a passage about the earthquake.
3.Students discuss the language points in the passage in groups of four, then ask for their answers.
4.Show the language points to the class, students read together.
5.Finish some exercise.
(从natural disasters这个主题过渡到台湾地震,非常自然;设置的短文填空,挖空巧妙,易于学生把握重点和难点;之后设置的相关中考链接题进一步巩固了学生对相关知识点的掌握。)
Step3:Grammar
1.Show the passage to the class again, students pick out the sentences using the past continuous tense.
2.Revise the past continuous tense.
3.Finish some exercise.
(设计意图:借助上面关于台湾地震的语篇中的例句,过渡到语法——过去进行时的复习与操练,过渡自然,而且符合当前英语核心素养所提出的——在语境中学习语法的理念,也更易于学生理解与接受。)
Step4:Safety tips
1.Show some pictures of disasters, students discuss how to keep themselves safe from danger, ask for their answers.
2.Finish a passage about this topic.
3.Show the whole passage to the class, students discuss in groups of four to find the language points in it, then ask for their answers.
4.Show the important points to the class, students read them together.
5.Finish some exercise.
6.Recite related passages in the oral English test books, check some students.
(设计意图:关于如何规避灾害,保障自身安全,是本单元的重要情感目标之一,本人通过学生讨论,完成语篇等形式,不但教给学生正确的避灾自保策略,而且提取了其中的重要知识点,并进行了相关中考题的操练,同时考虑到中考口语在即,还设置了穿插背诵相关口语篇目的环节,实现了相关考点的融汇贯通。)
Step5:Protecting the environment
1.Ask the students: How can we stop the natural disasters from happening Then lead to protecting the environment.
2.Finish a passage about Switzerland.
3.Students discuss in groups of four to look for the language points, then several students share their answers with the class.
4. Show the important points on the blackboard, students read them together.
5.Finish some exercise.
6.Show the whole passage to the class, students find the sentences using the passive voice in the simple future tense.
7.Revise the passive voice in the simple future tense, then finish some exercise.
(设计意图:由如何减少natural disasters,过渡到环保问题,过渡自然;选编的关于瑞士的语篇,涵盖了本单元大部分知识点;选取的练习题取自历年中考题,题目极具代表性;借助语篇中的例句复习一般将来时的被动语态,语境充分,易于学生理解与掌握。)
Step6:Writing
1.Show the writing structure to the class.
2.Share some related pictures with the class, help the students think of some useful expressions.
3.Students try to write their compositions, encourage them to use the phrases we have revised.
4.Some students share their compositions with the class.
(设计意图:读写结合是当前英语教学的一大热点。在之前充分输入的铺垫下,组织学生就仪征的一次自然灾害进行类似题材的写作,总体来说难度不大,同时鼓励学生运用之前复习到的单词,短语和句型,达到输入和输出进一步融合的目的,学生基本在规定的时间内完成了写作任务。)
Step7:Discussion
Ask: How can we prevent natural disasters
Students discuss in groups of four and share their answers with the class.
Tell the students: Life is beautiful because of the strong will.
Life is wonderful because of the true love.
Cherish your life.
Love & protect the nature.
(设计意图:从如何避免自然灾害,让学生展开讨论,对学生进行保护自己,保护环境的教育,实现情感教育的目标。)
