There’s a special boy in my son’s class. Everyone thinks he is a bad kid. I’ve heard that he talks loudly, disrupts(扰乱)the class with bursts of negative comments, and doesn’t participate in groups. He also stands out as the tallest. Other parents tell his mother they’re scared of him. Yet he has never been physically aggressive. Sometimes he even shows kindness to others in need of help.
I’ll call him Joe. Most parents and kids don’t know Joe has Asperger syndrome. People with the disease must learn about socially proper behavior. It’s very hard for Joe to control his social behavior. He has worked hard since second grade. However, he has few friends who support him with positive comments.
Joe is in the highest-level math and reading classes. He wanted to join an activity club in school, but parent volunteers refused him. They didn’t acknowledge that he had been working hard to fit into the school’s social networks. I wish those parents had seen Joe walking home from school one cold winter day in January and how he had offered his help warmly.
Driving by, I saw him run and kneel down by a little girl lying on the ground. Joe brushed the hair from her eyes and smiled. She smiled back through tears, having slipped and fallen on the ice. Joe took off his coat and spread it out, and then he helped her move to sit on it. He also gathered her belongings and put them on his coat. He wiped the snow from her knees and hands, moving her arms to check for injury. Then Joe helped her up, took her hand and walked her home. He carried her pack and then rang. her doorbell. When her sister rushed her inside, the little girl smiled back at Joe. Then he set her pack down by the door and walked home happily.

Tomorrow-represents hope
Every day, on the way to and from school I passed by a children's hospital. One morning, as I was hurrying to school, I noticed a child staring out of a small window on the first floor. The next minute I accidentally tripped, leaving my feet in the air. As I slowly pulled myself up and dusted myself off, I looked up again and saw the child laughing. In spite of my situation, I was pleased to have made someone laugh. I bowed as though I were a performer. The child clapped and waved at me, As I stepped closer, I saw that the girl’s head was bald (光秃), a sign that she was a cancer patient. I quickly waved one last time to her before making my way to school.
The next morning and the next, I looked out for the little girl and waved to her, jigging (蹦跳) just to make her laugh. I thought about her and wondered what her life must be like. “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, Creeps (爬行) in this petty pace from day to day.” Those lines from a Shakespearean poem I had learned in school came to my mind. Was that how the child lived from day to day
I felt the urge to visit the child. I went to the hospital and looked for the room facing the road. I found the little girl. She was thin and pale. When she saw me, her eyes widened with recognition and she welcomed me with a shy smile. I talked to her a bit and learned her name, Suki. The nurse who saw me talking to her later told me that Suki was a leukemia patient. Her navy officer father was a single parent and was on duty outside the country. The nurse encouraged me to visit Suki so that she would not be so lonesome. As I was leaving, Suki called tome, “Tomorrow ” I understood and said, “Yes, tomorrow.”

As the late afternoon sun beat down on the farm last May, Brandon Leseberg finished feeding his cows and decided to call it a day. As they often did, his two sons, Louie, 6, and Everett, 3 9 followed him.
As they headed for the house the two boys ran ahead of their father, who stopped to close the gate. Louie paused at a water tap atop an old well for some drink. Unknown to the Lesebergs 9 the board covering the well had worn and broken. When Louie stepped on it, it collapsed.
Brandon had just unlocked the gate when he turned around and saw only his youngest son.
" Where's Louie " he shouted.
"He fell in the hole! " Everett said.
Brandon quickly realized what had happened. Noooo! He thought. Louie can barely swim!
He ran to the well and heard Louie hitting the water below. Instinctively, he jumped in. As he fell down the well, Brandon heard Louie screaming. Somehow Brandon managed to grab onto a pipe that ran down the side of the well, which slowed him and kept him from crashing into his son.
Brandon hit the ice-cold water at the bottom of the well. He popped his head out of the water and grabbed Louie, who was panicked, trying to raise his son onto his chest, his body still partly submerged.
"All right, Dad, you can pull us out now, " Louie said.
If only it were that easy. There was only one way out. Looking up to see Everett peering down at them from the top of the well, Brandon shouted, " Everett, you're going to have to be a big boy and save us. Run to the road and stand by the mailbox to get someone to stop. Tell them we need help. And Everett, stay off the road! OK, Everett "
" OK, Daddy. "
Everett did as he was told.

阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I was on a family vacation and our hotel was right beside the sea. I was reading my book by the beach one afternoon when I heard some noise nearby. Curiously, I put aside the book and joined the group of people near the edge of the sea.
I was struck by what I saw. There was a giant turtle (海龟) which was upside down! Four of its huge feet were waving crazily in the air, and its long wrinkled neck was stretching far out of its shell. A thick rope was tied around the turtle and the fisherman held onto the end of it.
Obviously, the turtle was trying to escape. Some standers-by were clicking their cameras enthusiastically, filming the exciting moment. The crowd was thrilled by the scene before them. One strongly-built man found a piece of wood on the sand, carried it towards the turtle and started pushing the turtle's head with it. When the end of the wood touched the turtle's head, the turtle took it into its mouth and chewed it up in an instant.
“Wow!” the crowd shouted. “Did you see that I'm glad it wasn't my arm!” a person from the crowd exclaimed. “Wait till it gets sold and becomes turtle meat!” another joked and the crowd laughed.
Suddenly, I heard a boy’s screaming, “Cease torturing (折磨) it! Get away from the turtle!” We all turned and saw a boy and his father running toward where we were. “All of you are cruel for just standing there and doing nothing to save the turtle! Would you like it if you were forcefully taken away from your homes to be sold and tortured Animals deserve to be treated with kindness too!” the boy shouted at the group of adults standing on the beach. I sensed a slight change of mood in the crowd-a mixture of unease and anger.

As the late afternoon sun beat down on his farm, Brandon finished feeding his cows, his two sons, Louie, 6, and Everett, 3, tagging along.
As they headed for the house, the two boys ran ahead of their father. Louie paused at a water spigot(水龙头) above an old well to relieve his thirst, Unluckily, the board covering the well failed to support his weight and Louie fell into the well. Brandon had just closed the gate when he turned around and saw only his younger son.
“Where's Louie ”he shouted.“He fell in the hole!" Everett said.
Brandon, 37, quickly realized what had happened Noooo! he thought. Louie can barely swim!
Instinctively, he jumped in. As he fell some 70 feet down the 24-inch-wide brick-lined well, Brandon heard Louie screaming. A moment later, Brandon hit the freezing water at the bottom of the well. He popped his head out of the water and grabbed Louie, who was panicked. Brandon lifted his son onto his chest as he tried to stay afloat in the water that was too deep for either of them to stand. Looking around, Brandon quickly realized there was only one way out. Looking up to see Everett peering down at them from the top of the well, Brandon shouted, “Everett, you're going to have to be a big boy and save us. Run to the road and stand by the mailbox until someone stops. Tell them we need help.”
Everett did as he was told.
Five minutes. Ten minutes. Minutes passed like hours as Brandon, holding his shivering(颤抖的) son, continued to arch his back and brace his shoulders and legs against the well's brick walls. Finally, Everett's face appeared above the well.
“Everett, did you get some help "
“No.”
Brandon's heart sank. “That's OK, honey. But you have to go back out to the road and get someone to stop. OK, Everett ”
“OK, Daddy".

One possible version :
I stopped by Joe’s house later. I asked to talk to him and his mother looked worried. When 1 said I would praise him for his good behavior, she looked so surprised. I told Joe that I had seen him help a little girl on his way back home, and that I didn’t get out of my car because he had everything under control. I told him that he handled the emergency perfectly and that 1 thought he was a hero. Then I saw Joe’s beautiful smile again.
His mother ex pressed gratitude to me as she showed me to the door. She was moved to tears because it was so rare for Joe to show kindness and to be recognized in a positive way. As a mother, she always worries about her son’s future and the challenges he faces from society. After that, I tried my best to let more kids and parents know about Joe. We began to treat him with more patience. Later, Joe became a member of the activity club. And he has lots of friends now.

After that, I dropped in on Suki after school every day. We chatted casually about our own hobbies, favorite food and even the plans for the future. We played card games and read together. Even though Suki was only ten, I found that I could get along with her very well. I was not visiting her out of pity. I really looked forward to her company. At the end of each visit, she always asked, “Tomorrow ” and my reply was always, “Yes, tomorrow.”
Two months later, Suki told me good news. She was well enough to be discharged from the hospital. On my last visit, she gave me an envelope, and said it contained her email address. I promised to write. In her letter, Suki thanked me and told me how my answer to her question “Tomorrow ” had given her hope from day to day. She believed that she recovered because of this. At the end of the letter, she wrote “Tomorrow ” followed by her email address. I smiled and said to myself, “Yes, Suki, tomorrow.

Embarrassed as the father was, he was not ashamed of his son. “I apologized for my son's rudeness. He is just standing up for what he believes in, something that I taught him to do. Please let the turtle go, ”he said, addressing the crowd. I could feel something in my heart stirring. Before I knew it the words had flown out of my mouth, “The boy's right! Let the turtle go!” The crowd started murmuring. To my surprise, one by one, I heard other voices joining in to let the turtle go.
The fisherman finally agreed to let the turtle go. With many keen eyes fixed on him, he untied the knot in spite of some reluctance. The instant the turtle was freed, it crawled immediately towards the vast sea. The air seemed to be still-there was no previous joking or laughing in the crowd. The crowd thinned. After witnessing the turtle swimming away gracefully in the sunset, the boy left hand in hand with his father, lips curving in a smile. Bathed in the setting sun, I was deeply touched.
