People go to restaurants less because of COVID-19. They think it’s easy for them to catch COVID-19 when eating out. To help people eat safely, many restaurants think of some special and useful ways.
A restaurant in Tokyo is one of them.Hoshinoya Tokyo is a big hotel in Japan. If you eat in it, you can have a special experience(体验) now. When you sit down at the table, you are under the lantern partition(灯笼隔板). The top section is a traditional Japanese paper lantern, and part-way down it is clear plastic(塑料). When you eat with your friends or family, the lantern partition can protect you after removing masks(口罩). You can see your friends or family while eating. The lantern partition doesn’t take up space on the table, either.
Each lantern partition is 1.02 meters tall and 0.75 meters in diameter(直径). The light in it can help you see the food and other people’s faces.
The restaurant is only open to people staying at the hotel, but for the Lantern Banquet, they may invite outside guests to join them in this dining experience.
