教材分析 The topic of unit 8 is English week. The main content of the reading section is a news report introducing the "English Week" activities of Rosie Bridge School. Students can learn about the stylistic features of news, and the various activities of English Week, such as the English book fair, treasure hunt, English drama, English contest and speech contest. Learn the name and content of each activity, as well as its help with English learning. Learn about the suggestions made by the two students and the headmaster in the text on how to improve English. These suggestions are: try to communicate with friends in English, read English books or magazines, watch English TV programs, and above all, you should enjoy English.
学习 目标与核心素养 1.Knowledge objectives: Understand and master words such as speech, competition, text, chance, confidently, topic, winner, advisory, senior, opinion, whole, suggestion, communication, and who, and phrases such as in public, put on, in my opinion, and above all. 2.Skill objectives: ①Cultivate students' prediction ability and be able to predict the topic content of the main reading chapter according to the title and illustrations. ②Understand the main idea and structure of the article by using skimming and searching strategies. ③Understand the name and content of the "English Week" and its help with English learning, as well as the suggestions of some students and teachers on improving English level. ④Guess the meaning of the keywords through the context. 3.Emotional objectives: stimulate students' confidence and interest in learning English. 4.Thinking capacity: Comprehensively and objectively judge problems, cultivate innovative thinking, comprehensive analysis ability, and summary ability.
重点 Master the main idea, structure and details of the reading text and consolidate the core words and phrases.
难点 Cultivate reading skills, train students to discover reading skills and deepen their understanding of reading texts.

导入新课 一、Lead-in Teachers show students some pictures and lead in the topic of English Week. 2. Ask students more questions related to the topic:What can you do during English Week Look at the pictures and answer the questions freely. Introduce relevant content of the course, stimulate students' interest in learning and activate their thinking.
讲授新课 二、Key words The teacher plays the tape to teach the pronunciation, phonetic symbols and Chinese meanings of new words. Classroom activities (一)The teacher guides the students to write the correct activity name under each picture. Ask students to discuss their favorite activities and explain the reasons. Pr-reading (一)Students read the title and subtitle of the main reading passage and observe the illustrations, then complete the exercises before reading. (二)Read and understand words and carry out pr-reading activities to eliminate reading obstacles. (三) Cultivate students' strategies of scanning and skipping. (四)The teacher explains the differences between the three styles of email, news report and interview in the first option of B before you read. 五、Reading (一)skimming(略读) 1.Use skimming strategies to understand the general content of the reading text, segment the article and summarize the general idea of the paragraph. 2.Use skimming strategies, read the paragraphs of the text, answer the questions, and fill in the form. (二)Scanning(找读) Train the students to use the scanning reading strategy to complete reading comprehension and choose the correct answers. (三)Copy the voice and intonation of the recording and read the text aloud. Students follow the tape and read the main reading passage aloud, while recognizing and understanding the key words. (四)Complete Part C on page 116 of the textbook and write the meaning of italics. 六、Language point Summarize important words and sentences and explain them as examples. Listen to the tape and repeat, pay attention to the intonation, stress and pronunciation. Students complete the questions and discuss their favorite activities, and explain the reasons. Under the guidance of the teacher, students answer questions, understand the news report genre, use reading strategies to find out the details, and judge whether the topic is right or wrong. Read the passage carefully, use the reading strategies such as searching and skimming to find out the details and complete the topic. Students follow the tape and read the main reading passage aloud, while recognizing and understanding the key words Students record important knowledge points of the course and complete examples. Vocabulary learning consolidates basic knowledge and cultivates students' language communication ability. Students should understand and master the names of activities related to the text to lay a foundation for the following news. Before reading can eliminate reading obstacles, cultivate students' prediction ability and be able to predict the topic content of the main reading chapter according to the title and illustrations. Understand the main idea and structure of the article by using skimming and scanning strategies.Guess the meaning of the keywords through the context.Train students to find important information according to the key words of the topic.
