Facebook has developed(研发)the first machine learning model and it can translate(翻译)between any two of 100 languages without going into English first. Facebook says the new machine translation model was created to help its more than two billion(十亿)users worldwide. The company is still testing the translation model and hopes to add it to different products(产品)in the future.
Angela Fan, a researcher at Facebook, introduced the new machine translation model this week on one of the company’s websites. She said the model brings better results than other machine learning systems that depend on(依靠)English to help in translation. The other systems use English as a middle step - like a bridge - to translate between two non - English languages.
One example would be a translation from Chinese to French. Fan noted that many machine translation models begin by translating from Chinese to English first, and then from English to French. This is done " because English is most widely used, " she said. But such a way can lead to mistakes in translation.
Facebook says about two - thirds of its users communicate in a language that is not English. The company already does about 20 billion translations every day on its website. But it faces a huge test with many users speaking out large numbers of words in more than 160 languages.
The development team trained(培训)the new model on 7.5 billion sentence pairs for 100 languages. In addition, the system was trained on a total of 2,200 language directions. Facebook said this is 10 times the number on the best machine translation models in the past.
( )4.According to the passage, how many translations does Facebook probably do on its website every week
A. 2 billion B. 7.5 billion C. 20 billion D. 140 billion
( )5.What does the underlined word "This" in Paragraph 3 refer to(指代)

C. Using English as a middle step.
D. Communicating on the Facebook.
( )6.According to the passage which of the following about the new model is NOT true
A. It does not depend on English in translation.
B. It makes fewer mistakes in translation.
C. It is now used by more than two billion people.
D. It was trained much more than the models in the past.
( )7.What does the passage mainly talk about
A. Facebook's first machine learning model.
B. How to translate languages without using English.
C. Different kinds of machine translation models.
D. The hard work Facebook does to develop the new model.

The Asian elephant is the largest animal is Asia. The elephants are usually 5 to 6 meters tall and weigh 3 to 5 tons. Yunnan is the only home for wild Asian elephants in China. The province has built 11 nature reserves and its population has risen from 170 in the 1970s to 300 today.
However, last year, 15 wild Asian elephants left their home in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, They kept going north, walking through fields and towns. The journey damaged 561,333 square meters of crops and led to economic losses of nearly 6.8 million yuan.
People wonder why the elephants are on the move and where they are heading to. Zhang Li, a life science professor at Beijing Normal University, suggested that the elephants need more space and food, or they are losing their home. Another idea suggests that a change in Earth’s magnetic(磁场) field has made the elephants think they should move.
The government is trying to protect the safety of both humans and the elephants. They have fed the elephants tons of food in order to guide them away from city areas. They have also watched the group’s movement, warning nearby people not to get close to the elephants. A total of 76 police cars and trucks, five diggers and nine drones(无人机) have been used to protect the animals.
