Lesson 4 A Visit to Lanzhou
一、教材分析
本节课是冀教版七年级下册第一单元的第四节课,本单元的语言功能是寻求许可,表达自己的意图,谈论距离。语法功能是学习一般将来时和数词的读法。本节课根据新课程标准通过兰州的名胜古迹及丝绸之路的历史和文化的学习,使学生形成初步的综合语言运用能力, 从而进一步提高学生听、说、读、写的综合素质能力。
二、学习者特征分析
1.七年级学生的认知心理:初一学生正处于青春发育期,他们有较高的求知欲和表现欲,期待得到他人的认可。尤其要从激发他们的学习兴趣上下功夫。本节课一开始我就用一个介绍兰州短视频的形式来激发他们的学习兴趣。当然我设计的课堂活动让人人都能参与,增强他们学习英语的积极性和自信心。
2.七年级学生的英语基础知识:他们经过一学期的学习,已经能使用简单的语言表达自己的想法。本节课虽然学生对于兰州的名胜古迹不是很熟悉,但我通过画简笔画,图文并茂的方式来呈现,反复练习,因此学生在学习过程中没有太大困难,这有利于他们顺利完成本节课的学习任务。
3.七年级学生的思维能力:初一学生思维活跃,记忆力和模仿力强,但对知识的运用能力有待提高,因此我在本堂课设置灵活多样的课堂活动,以提高学生对语言的灵活运用能力。
三、教学目标(知识与技能,过程与方法,情感态度与价值观)
(一)知识与技能目标:
1.Students can master the new words: group, bridge, cross, wide,cheese .
phrases: go for a walk, go down, turn left, , in front of, take a picture.
2. Students can use the useful expressions:
Let’s go down this street and turn left at the traffic lights.
This road will lead us to the Yellow River.
The Silk Road crossed the Yellow River in Lanzhou.
Wow, the Yellow River is so wide.
The Yellow River is about 5 400 kilometres long.
We call it the Mother River.
—Can we take a picture in front of the statue, Ms.Martin
—Sure.
(二)过程与方法目标:
1. 通过播放兰州的名胜古迹的视频及画简笔画,以兰州的名胜古迹为主线,利用一切能利用的资源学习,如制作视频、词典、网络、大量的图片。
2. 通过完成任务,学会与他人合作,并能把学到的语言运用到真实的语境中去。
3. 通过参与课堂活动,提高学生学习英语的积极性和自信心。
4. 通过观看视频及画简笔画,让学生了解兰州的名胜古迹及特色小吃,培养学生动脑的习惯和观察能力。
(三)情感态度与价值观:
1. 通过与他人合作学习,培养学生的合作意识及体现他们的团队精神。
2. 通过了解兰州的名胜古迹,特色小吃及标志性的建筑物和文化。了解中西文化的差异,激发学生的爱国热情,培养学生热爱祖国的良好品质。
四、重点与难点
重点:
1. Students can use the useful expressions: group, bridge, cross, wide,cheese .go for a walk, go down, turn left, in front of , take a picture.
2.Students can use the sentence structures:
Let’s go down this street and turn left at the traffic lights.
This road will lead us to the Yellow River.
The Silk Road crossed the Yellow River in Lanzhou.
Wow, the Yellow River is so wide.
The Yellow River is about 5 400 kilometres long.
We call it the Mother River.

3.Master the usage of "over" and differences "in front of and in the front of".
难点:
Students can make up their own dialogues about Lanzhou.
五、教学策略选择与设计
1. 我通过制作播放关于兰州的一段简短的视频及画简笔画,充分搜集关于兰州的一些名胜古迹及兰州拉面的图片,使学生对兰州有了更深入的了解,图文并茂,使枯燥的东西变得简单化,困难的东西变得容易化,激发学生学习兴趣,并把所学知识运用到生活中来;整合教材,在课堂上对学生进行英语听、说、读、写的训练,在内容上环环相扣,难度上层层递进,把知识与技能、过程与方法、情感态度与价值观融入到教学活动中来,全面提高学生对语言的综合运用能力,并且渗透了中西文化的差异,激发学生的爱国热情,培养学生热爱祖国的良好品质。
2. 依据学习内容和语言学习规律,我把听、说、读、写训练设计在教学中的各个环节中。
3. 通过循序渐进的教学环节,使学生能顺利完成各个学习任务,从而体验到学习的快乐,获得英语学习的自信心。
4. 通过了解兰州,了解丝绸之路,了解中西文化的差异,激发学生的爱国热情,培养学生的爱国情怀,从而体现学生的价值观。

七、教学过程
Step1. Lead-in
T:Hello,boys and girls. The summer holiday is coming. Do you like the summer holiday I like it very much. Because I can take a trip to relax. Where will you visit in your summer holiday
S1: I will visit Qingdao.
s2: I will visit Xi'an.
s3: I will visit Lanzhou.
T: For me, there is a city I really want to visit---Lanzhou. Let's watch a video, after finishing ,please tell me what you can see on it, Let's go.
Ask students to watch the video and say out the places of interest in Lanzhou.
T: “Are you right” Today, We will learn Lesson 4 A visit to Lanzhou.
【设计思路】本节课的话题是学习兰州的名胜古迹,因此我制作了兰州名胜古迹及拉面的小视频导入新课,一方面激发了同学们的学习兴趣和好奇心,另一方面让学生对本课内容有一个感知的认识。
Step2. New Concepts
Activity 1. Teaching new words ,phrases .
Show Ss some pictures and guess what they are.
S:The Yellow River.
T:Yes. The Yellow River is wide and long. It's about 5400 kilometres
long and more than 200 metres wide. We call it the Mother River.
The silk Road crossed (板书cross)the Yellow River in Lanzhou.
T:What about it
S:It's a bridge.
T:Yes. It's called the Lanzhou Zhongshan Bridge(板书bridge). It was the first bridge over the Yellow River. Look, The group(板书group) is crossing the bridge.
T: What's this
S:It's a statue.
T:Yes.She is a gentle mother, and he is a lovely baby. We can say a mother with a baby .It's beside the Yellow River. We call it the Mother River Statue. It's the symbol of Lanzhou. We can take a picture(板书take a picture/photo=take pictures/photos) in front of the statue. People like to say "cheese"(板书cheese)when they take a picture in the U.S; but in China we like to say "eggplant"(板书eggplant) when we take a photo. Pay attention to their differences "in front of and in the front of"(板书in front of and in the front of). For example," I'm standing in front of you, and I'm standing in the front of our classroom." ask a student to say out their differences and do some exercise.
T:How about it
S:It's the waterwheel(板书waterwheel).
T: Yes, read after me," the waterwheel."
T:Look, It's a bowl of Lanzhou noodles. How delicious .It's one of the three major Chinese fast-food.
T: What places of interest can you remember Let’s write them down.
【设计思路】采用根据图片学习新单词、短语、句子的方式进行重难点词汇、短语和句子的教学。运用简笔画呈现兰州的特色小吃,这种方式直观形象,印象深刻,学生易于接受,为后面的听力、阅读和写作环节做好铺垫。
Activity 2.work in pairs.
Show Li Ming's map of the silk road.
T:As we know, Li Ming is on his trip to the silk road. His first stop is Xi'an. Lanzhou is his second stop, and he wants to go for a walk along the river. How can he get there Look at the map, Let's help Li Ming.
S:Go down this street and turn left at the traffic lights. This road will lead you to the river.
T:Excellent! A map is useful. It can tell us where we will go.
【设计思路】问路对于学生来说是个难点,采用图片的方式教学,使难的问题简单化,抽象的问题容易化,学生易于接受,为后面的听力做好铺垫。
Activity 3. work in pairs.
Show Ss a dialogue and finish it in pairs.

【设计思路】加深学生对新知理解,同时也是检测学生对新知识的掌握情况,培养学生扎实的英语说能力。
Activity 4. Listening (Let’s do it 1)
1. Ask students to turn to page 9.Now Let's listen to the dialogues and write true(T) or false(F).
2. Listen to the tape and ask students to tell answers.
【设计思路】听力采用听的方式进行教学,目的是练习本课目标语言,培养学生扎实的英语听能力。
Activity 5.Reading
1. Now Let's read the lesson and answer the question as quickly as you can.
2. Ss read and ask students to tell answers.
【设计思路】这一环节,有前面的听说环节做铺垫,所以学生们对基本知识掌握不错,采用快速阅读的教学方法,不但激发学生的兴趣调动他们的积极性,而且会让他们大脑思维反应灵活,培养学生扎实的英语读的技能。
Activity 5. Making conversations about the places of interest about Lanzhou.
1. Make conversation in groups.
2.Present your conversation to others.
【设计思路】小组活动,告诉对方暑假去兰州的哪儿旅游并介绍,提醒小伙伴们不要忘了兰州的特色小吃,巩固本课所学重、难点知识。
Step3. Class closing
1. Summary
Lanzhou is important for the Silk Road. It plays an important role on the belt and road. I hope you can visit Lanzhou and learn more about the Silk Road 、the history and culture of China along the way.
2. Homework.
Please write a passage about Lanzhou.
【设计思路】1.再次运用简笔画,让学生对所学兰州名胜古迹及特色小吃再次回顾,加深巩固。
2.引导学生完善自己的写作,通过兰州的名胜古迹及丝绸之路的历史和文化的学习, 了解中西文化的差异,激发学生的爱国热情,培养学生热爱祖国的良好品质。

十、 教学反思
优点:本节课我通过制作播放关于兰州的一段简短的视频及画简笔画教学,使学生对兰州有了更深入的了解,图文并茂,激发学生学习兴趣,整合教材,在课堂上对学生进行英语听、说、读、写的训练,全面提高学生对语言的综合运用能力。学生在两人一组进行对话时“river”一词发音错误,及时给予纠正。在教授in front of 与in the front of 的区别时,用教室情景进行举例教学,使学生更容易理解,总结时再次运用简笔画,让学生加深对兰州名胜古迹及特色小吃理解,巩固所学内容,教学过程中渗透了中西方文化的差异,使学生了解兰州,了解丝绸之路,了解一带一路在兰州的重要性,激发学生的爱国热情,培养学生的爱国情怀,从而体现学生的价值观。
不足:
1.因为所用班级不是本班学生,学生与教师的配合不是很默契。
2.学生的听、说在本节课都体现得很好,若最后一环节附加一个写作训练,锻炼孩子写的能力应该比较好一点。但是,也许正是因为这些不完美,才更能引起我们的深思,更能使我们不断进步!
