(2)① sixteen-year-olds
在句中用作名词,意为“16岁的青少年”。“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”
构成的词通常作形容词,作前置定语。
e.g. She is an eight-year-old girl.
她是一个八岁的女孩。

这类用连字符连接的合成名词变复数时,通常把最后一个词变复数。

用连字符连接的合成名词变复数时,如果该词中的第一个词是名词或比其他词
更重要,要把第一个词变复数。
e.g. looker-on → lookers-on 旁观者
editor-in-chief → editors-in-chief 主编
passer-by → passers-by 行人

③由man 和 woman 等组成的复合名词,如果是偏正关系,两个词通常都要变复数。

词变复数。

e.g. Passengers are not allowed to smoke.

此处get用作使役动词,意为“使,让”,“get + sth + 过去分词”意
