知识点1 family的用法
1. family作名词，a group of people who are related to each other, such as a mother, a father, and their children 家，家庭，家人。如：
I come from a large family --- I have three brothers and two sisters. 我来自一个大家庭，有三个兄弟，两个姐妹。
He doesn't have any family. 他没有任何亲人。
2. family作名词，a large group of related types of animal or plant （动植物的）科。如：
The lion is a member of the cat family. 狮子属猫科。
3. family为集合名词,根据意义不同, 其谓语动词的形式也有所不同。当强调整体, 指“家,家庭”时, 谓语动词用单数形式; 当强调个人, 指“家庭成员”时, 谓语动词用复数形式。有类似用法的集合名词还有class, police, team, group等。如:
The family is rich.这个家庭很富有。(强调整体)
My family are watching TV at home.我的家人正在家看电视。(强调家庭成员)
知识点2 指示代词的用法
1. this, that, these和those都可以用作指示代词。these是this的复数形式, 二者均指代时间上或空间上较近的人或事物; those是that的复数形式,二者均指代时间上或空间上较远的人或事物。如:
This is my friend. That is my brother. 这是我的朋友。那是我的哥哥。
2. 指示代词this, that作主语时，连系动词be用单数形式is，同时后面的名词用单数形式。
当these, those作主语时，连系动词be用复数形式are，同时后面的名词用复数形式。
3. 在回答主语是this或that的一般疑问句或特殊疑问句时，在答语中用it代替句中的this或者that。当回答these或those作主语的一般疑问句或特殊疑问句时，在答语中用they代替句中的these或those。
4. 介绍某人时，用this或that，而不用he或she。
5. 打电话时，说自己是谁用This is…，问别人是谁用Who’s that
知识点3 parent的用法
1. parent =father or mother, 指“父亲或母亲”; parents =father and mother, 指“父亲和母亲”。
2. grandparent =grandfather or grandmother, 指“(外)祖父或(外)祖母”; grandparents =grandfather and grandmother, 指“(外)祖父和(外)祖母”。
3. parent多以复数形式出现，表示父母双方，单数使用时表示父亲或母亲一方。grandparent也是如此，表示“祖父母，外祖父母”。
4. father, mother, grandfather, grandmother均为书面语，而口语或儿语时为dad, mom /mum, grandpa, grandma。
