Lesson 22 :Big Plans for the Weekend
Teaching Plan
一、Analysis of the content:
This lesson is from Unit 4, the second book of Grade Seven. The topic of this unit is After-school activities. And this lesson is about the plans for the weekend. I will spend 45mins finishing this lesson. This class will focus on listening, speaking, reading and language points.
二、Analysis of the Ss:
Lesson 22 is placed in the middle of Unit 4, Ss have already learnt about some after-school activities from the above lessons. Therefore, they can express some simple after-school activities by themselves.
三、Teaching aims:
1、Knowledge aims:
① The Ss can understand the meaning of the words:
in a hurry, somewhere, actually, surf the Internet, cooking, do housework
② The Ss can use “be going to” to express their plans.
③ The Ss can make use of the following phrases to express their after-school activities:
stay at home; read a book; surf the Internet; watch TV; do some housework
2、Ability aim:
The Ss can use their own words to express their weekends’ plans and share them with others.
3、Emotional attitude:
After this lesson, Ss can find some interesting things in their spare time, so that they can
let their life colorful and meaningful, and enjoy their life at the same time.
四、Teaching points :
1、Key points: ① The Ss can understand and grasp the meaning of the words above;
② The Ss can use “be going to” to express their plans.
2、Difficult point: Ss can use the new phrases to express their activities on weekends.
五、Teaching tools:
pictures; PowerPoint; projector
六、Teaching process:
Step 1: Warm- up:
Look at the pictures and talk about “What do you usually do on weekends ”
Step 2: Pre-reading
1、Play a guessing game
T shows some pictures to Ss and guesses the meaning of words and phrases. 2、Read the new words
T leads the Ss read the new words again and invites a S to be a little teacher lead to read them together.
3、Matching game
Match the words with the correct meanings and pictures.
( Use English and pictures to explain English words. Students can easily grasp the meaning of the new words.)
4、Listen to the tape
The Ss listen to the tape and answer the question at “Let’s Do It”, and grasp the basic idea of the dialogue.
Step 3: While-reading
1、The Ss in 4 groups read the dialogue together and answer the following Qs:
Q1: Why can’t Danny stay still today
Q2: What is Danny going to do this weekend
Q3: What does Jenny usually do on weekends
2、Explain several key points of this lesson on PPT.
Step 4: Post-reading
1、Make small conclusion on the whiteboard;
2、Do some exercise;
Step 5: Activity
Pair work: The Ss in 4 groups make a dialogue about “plans for the weekend”, and show them in the front of the classroom.
Step 6: Summary
1、words and phrases;
in a hurry, somewhere, actually, surf the Internet, cooking, do housework
2、after-school activities:
listen to music, read a book, watch TV, surf the Internet and do housework
( At the end of the class, Ss draw a conclusion to what have learnt today.)
3、sublimation: there are lots of activities in the world, we can live a colorful and meaningful life.
Step 7: Homework
Writing:Make a plan for this weekend, and write a short passage on the exercise book. (use” be going to”)

Response of this lesson:
It’s a little pity that I feel a little bit nervous that I made several mistakes in my words during the class. I’d like to try my best to improve myself during the daily educated works and to be a better English teacher!
