This lesson is from the fourth lesson of Unit6, Book 2, Jijiao. The
topic in this Unit is about “Seasons”. It mainly talks about the seasons, weather and some activities. All the students are interested in the topic. “Lesson 34 Steven’s Report” is form of a report to show for students, it is around the topic of “ favorite day ” to introduce some activities on Steven’s favorite day. By learning this , students understand the meaning of this lesson and master the main ideas , they should learn how to describe their favorite day in English. At last, develop their ability of thinking independently, summarize and solve problems.
Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim: To master the new words and useful expressions .
Ability aim: How to describe their favorite days.
Emotional aim: Have fun in different seasons and enjoy our life.
Key points: To master the important words and phrases and stimulate their interests of learning English, arouse their learning abilities.
Difficult points: To describe favorite days in different seasons with a partner.

Teaching procedures:
Step1:Warm-up play a game
(let the students enter the English class quickly)
Step2:Free talk show some pictures to students, let them talk about what they can see in the pictures and which season is their favorite season. (By showing some pictures and creating situation to students, let them feel relax, and they can talk about the seasons freely. Set the stage for the next step. )
Step3:Listening
Play the tape for the students and let them listen to the passage and circle the correct words. Before listening, let students read the statements first and try to understand the meaning of each sentence. After listening, check the answers one by one. (When training their listening ability, let the students understand the meaning of this lesson. Arouse their listening skills, master how to correct their mistakes in listening.)
Step4: Reading
Let students read the passage first. After they finish reading the text, let them fill in the table. If they are not sure about the answers, they can have a discussion with their group members. Then ask them to share and check their answers. (After listening ,the students know something about the text, let them read the text again, they can learn more about it; by finishing the table, they can master the details and the important points in each paragraph.)
After finishing the table, lead students to retell the text.

Step5: Group-work
Let students to work in groups to talk about their favorite day or special day. Then write a short report about it and share the result in class.

Step6: Summary
Summarize the important points in this lesson. Tell students that no matter what season you like, what the weather is like and what you do, to love and enjoy everyday life are the most important things. (Achieve the emotional attitude, let students learn to enjoy the wonderful life at all the times.)
Step7: Homework
1. Remember the words and phrases.
2. Interview your friends’ favorite day, write down some notes.
3. Finish off “ Let’s Do It 3”.

Teaching reflection: In this lesson, we learned about Steven’s report. We knew his favourite season, his favourite day and on that day, what did he do I used three kinds of ways to train students’ ability of learning English. Let them enjoy the interest of learning English. At last, they can say something about their favourite day. But some of the students are not good at English, they can’t follow me in class, so I’ll pay more attention to them, give them some chances to help them .
