Many teenagers may smoke, drink and do other dangerous things.Earlier studies have shown that teenagers are more likely to make more unreasonable(不理智的) decisions than people from any other age group, including children and adults. Are teenagers too young to tell right from wrong Not really. So what’s the reason
According to Laurence, the reason is that teenagers care a lot about how their peers(同龄人) view them—that is “peer influence”.
As children enter the teenage years, they spend more time with their friends and classmates, and they also care about what others think of themselves. This makes teenagers make decisions without thinking about the costs.
In a test, a group of teenagers were asked to play a video driving game. When they played with their friends watching around them, they took more chances and drove more carelessly to win.But when they played alone, they drove more safely.
Why do peers have such a big influence on teens’ behavior In Laurence’s opinion, a teenager’s brain is like a car with a good accelerator(油门) but a weak brake(刹车).The “accelerator” is fully developed by teenage years while the “brake” is still not fully developed. When teenagers are watched by their peers, they usually push hard on the accelerator. With their weak brake, it is likely that they are going to end up in an accident.
But the good news is that a violent(暴力的) teenager doesn’t necessarily become a violent adult.“They get more self-controlled.Also, people who haven’t committed a violent crime by age 19 are less likely to start doing it later,” said Laurence.
( )26.Why are teenagers likely to make more unreasonable decisions according to the passage
A.Because they like difficult tasks.
B.Because they don’t care about costs.
C.Because they are too young to tell right from wrong.
D.Because they care a lot about what their peers think of them.
( )27.According to the passage, with peers around them, teenagers are more likely to .
A.get more self-controlled
B.have more time to study with parents
C.become more careful about what they do
D.care about winning without thinking about the danger
( )28.The underlined word “committed” in the last paragraph means “ ”.
A.escaped from B.got into
C.thought about D.run off
( )29.Laurence explains the influence of peers on teens’ behavior by .
A.comparing it to how a car works B.comparing it with an accident
C.showing research findings D.giving examples
( )30.What can we conclude from the passage
A.Teenagers are easy to have traffic accidents.
B.Peer influence is always bad on teenagers.
C.Most of the teenagers become less violent when they grow up.
D.Teenagers shouldn’t spend all the free time with their friends.

Should teenagers be allowed to use the Internet
Recently,I’ve had a discussion with my parents about whether teenagers should use the Internet. My parents think teenagers shouldn’t be allowed to use the Internet because it can get in the way of our schoolwork. And sometimes it may even put us in danger if we meet people online alone.
However, I think we can use the Internet in a proper way.For one thing, it can be used for our study because it’s convenient for us to get knowledge and useful information. For another, listening to music and watching a movie online are good ways to relax. Finally, the Internet can help us to keep in touch with friends.
In a word, the Internet plays an important role in our life, but we should be careful while using it.
